Get Out More / Questionaire.
by Englishman inis it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?
if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.
also, i am told that americans regard the rest of the world as a very dangerous place to be.

New Book on Jehovah's Witnesses?
by stevieb1 inwe've had two from ray franz in the 1980/90's and one from jim penton (mid 80's) and some brilliant tomes on specific subjects such as those from carl jonnsen but now we're in 2002 isn't it time we had a new and up-to-date masterpiece to defend truth against error?.
what i mean is that most witnesses today may not be too bothered about beth-sarim or what happened within the wt back in 1975 they want to read something bang up-to-date in one succinct volume.. does anyone know of any works in progress?
the watchtower apologists (such as stafford and furuli) are quite active why aren't the ex-jw's?

Personal experiences compiled would make a good non-fiction book.
Chapter 1 -- Alan F.
Chapter 2 -- Farkel
Chapter 3 -- Amazing
Chapter 4 -- Waiting
Chapter 5 -- UncleBruce
...etc...Ray Franz is updating his CoC with each new printing, and there's a lot of stuff in it now that was not there in the first edition.

My Idea
by Uboat_Ninja ini'll try to be brief.. i am in my mid 20's and live on the west coast in a large city.
i was raised a jw in a single congregation.
i was never baptised.
-
Celia
I wouldn't do it Ninja !
It's just a waste of your time.
Donate Ray Franz's books to your local library,
write letters to the editor of local newspapers explaining the shunning policy, the blood ban, the pedophiles amongst the congregations, the UN link... etc... -

Why They fear 'Dateline'
by metatron inwhether or not the 'dateline' program ever airs, the watchtower.
society is still going to get pounded by bad press over the coming.
months and years.. why should they care?
-
Celia
Yearly Checks, Monthly Checks, to the Society ?
And the nice ladies who came to my door were always telling me that, unlike other churches, no money was asked at the Kingdom Hall...
Can you elaborate ? Is it like the Mormons who give 10 % of their income ? The Catholics in France may contribute once a year, families in the parish get an envelope that they can return with any amount they wish to donate... -

S4, My hometown, in France... well not exactly, as I grew up in a village a few km. from that town. And sorry to say, as beautiful as this place in the US can be, there's no comparison with my native mountains...

Can a JW PLEASE answer my question on baptism?
by Sunspot inwitnesses always strongly state that they strictly follow the commands of jesus and all bible principles.. i have such an important (to me, anyway) question that i would appreciate a meaningful answer to:.
at matthew 28:19, jesus issues a direct command to his followers, that being: "go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing then in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit".
why doesn't the wbts then follow this command, which has never changed, and taken it upon themselves to add to and alter what the bible clearly states on this?.
-
Celia
We all know by now that JWs aren't Christians at all.
They don't believe that Jesus is important at all. it doesn't matter what they say, it's just words, no action...
So why obey his commands, better make up new commands that promote their little sick doctrines.... -
