on our trip back home from the thanksgiving holiday spent at our home town my wife labeled me an intellect.
normally, i would've been flattered with the title but when she called me that she was referencing the bible verse matthew 11:25. this offended me to say the least.. she said that it was hard for people like me to have faith in something because i will always investigate it and make sure of it.
for example, if someone told me that the grass was green, she said i would not believe them and research grass and the color green to ensure that it really was.. i told her that this was absurd and that i see no reason to research whether or not the grass was green when i can see with my own eyes what color it is.
She's just testing you mate. Ignore it. Its really not about any of those arguments, you gotta see what subcommunication is. And what it is in this case is bacically this 'you hurt my feelings by leaving the real man in my life - J.' Its like living with someone who is infatuated with an ideal image of lets say a cartoon character or alike. You are basically dealing with someone who has to mature before you can talk to them on the same frequency. It is hard to face the fact that you somehow failed to notice it before but it is true. So just smile to her arguments and tell her she is not seriously intersted in the truth of anything otherwise she would not be jumping all over you or from one question to another. She will need to prove it to you then one way or another that she wants to know the truth. Only then after actually having her attention will you be able to lay down your arguments.

Now that I think of it my ex never knew mine as far as I know nor it ever became an issue, she was more into books than the computer, but neither was I ever hiding anything even thought it would have served me better if I did, once she read an email I left open on my screen. But in the end it was not a biggie. Likewise since I've had several relationships but it never became an issue. A lady friend that spends lots time here lately doesn't know my password, mind you my email account is often open on the screen, I've got nothing to hide nor could I live like that but neither have I ever seen her snooping behind my back when she's here but if she had a reason where she needed password I would have given it to her, I guess once you allow somebody that close there are no more tests of trust anymore, you accept people on their word.
I don't think anyone would say they are non-thinker regardless how little they actually think, what do you think?
As for being ridiculers, I think you would have to agree that most have learned that thoughtless skill while inside the borg, i.e. ridiculing someone without thinking. Well just think about it. How many times did you hear at the meeting about those "godless people" and their beliefs and way of thinking. In fact at one point it gotten so bad that I literally walked out of the meeting when speaker started talking how god will destroy little snakes along with big snakes (referring to parents and children) and everyone in audience laughed. I really didn't have to think about it to realize just how aweful thought that was, but what struck me as odd was the fact that nobody seemed to think the same or have thought about gravity of what just has been said. In fact, I think if people in government really thought for a moment how people in congregation really think about their fellow man they would shut the whole fucking thing down, before they have a chance to think about it, what do you think??
Having said all of that, I would love to see more indepth discussions like it was the case few years ago, but then again I guess the original make-up of the board has changed or people have moved away from serious scholarly debate. In any case it is really great when you read a thought provoking comment, which btw is something you couldn't even think about while inside the borg, what do you think?

Actually, I've had a scare (with my bowel) earlier in the year that made me reassess everything, you'd be surprised how suddenly you start noticing little things, things you took for granted. So I started spending more time with my daughter, spent shitload of time at our lodge (in the woods), traveled more went to see some old friends and relatives, something I've been delaying for years, heck even managed to finish writing this book I was working on... Eventually the thing was removed, but effect it had on me was, what's the word, irreversible. So I'm now taking it easy, not rushing into anything and basically enjoying every minute of my life. I guess that will be my closest approximation to being 'born again' lol

i don't foresee any dramatic revelations in this but the evidence is clearly moving towards acceptance of extraterrestrial life.

I'm not convinced, Mars is a very sterile place. It is possible of course and it would be a great news if confirmed but that will require going to the Mars and physically discovering the evidence there, that could not have been conaminated by Earth bacteria. The fact that Mars meteorite was found on Antarctica while 'romantic' doesn't really prove it could not have been contaminated there. After all it layed on the ground for thousands of years before being discovered. We aready know that life on Earth can live in the most extreme of the environments here, hot or cold in fact we even have a special name for it, we call them Extremophiles i.e. The cold of Antartica is not the evidence rock 'could not have been contaminated on this planet'
As for JWs and church in general, I think they will always find "another angle" with which to screw minds of believers until they don't have any minds left to screw with.
since leaving i've started reading my horescope when ever i happen to see one, i don't belive it, i just do it because it was somthing i was always taught as bad and now i am free to do .

Nah, its absolute bull. I've had a number of people trying to convince me into the "science of it" lol, providing different theories why it 'might' work. It's like Draconian screwing of your mind. Couple of months ago I had a bit of a fun at the office party with a bunch of girls, I've cut out horoscope from a paper making sure I 'accidently' also cut out the 'sign' from the top... Well it turned out most of them thought horoscope was right on the money yet again even though I gave them wrong month. When I showed them the original paper where they could see what sign it belonged to they of course had explanation for that too....
