MORE INSANE DRIVEL FROM THE NOV 15th WT STUDY
by Mary inhere's another article showing how loving jehovah's only channel in the universe is towards their fellow man.
on page 26 of the november 15th craptower study, there's a lovely study article called always accept jehovah's discipline.
in reality, we all know it's really saying "never question the governing body'sdiscipline".. it's starts out with the predicable "no discipline seems for the present to be joyous but grievous", blah, blah, blah.

God's servants study the bible and Christian publications. Jehovah's standards are discussed at their meetings, assemblies, and conventions. So Christians are in a position to know what Jehovah requires of them.
Such hubris!
It's as if I can actually hear the minds cracking to accept such mad logic as above and the rest of the article you mentioned.

Internet Service Provided By The Society
by BlackPearl inthere's been speculation about how the society could make wt cd's with "site monitoring" software on them, how about internet service provided by the society?
this way you'd feel like you have the freedom to surf the net but all the "bad" stuff would be blocked out.
they'd have total control over what the surfer sees.

Your "rank" is not related to how long you've been here, but by how many posts you've created.

Veil Wearing Moslems v Cross Wearing Christians
by Clam inthings are getting nuttier here in the so called "united" kingdom.
we now have a female moslem classroom assistant who has been suspended from her place of work because she insists on wearing a veil in class.
bizarrely she works in a church of england school and at the interview wore no veil while being interveiwed by a man.

May I say that I would not be allowed to wear a cross around my neck for work. In fact I'm not allowed to wear any jewelry except for a watch, wedding band and stud earrings. It's not a problem for me or any of my colleagues because we understand that we look far more professional this way.
The woman who works for British Airways should GET A LIFE. Wear what you want out of work but do what your employers ask of you in their time - they are paying your wages after all.I think this is preposterous. I can understand an employer having a problem with one were to push their religion down another's throat, but simply wearing a piece of jewelry (tasteful and a bit discreet)??!!
An employer may pay my wages to work for them, but they couldn't pay me enough to tell me I couldn't wear some personally symbolic piece of jewelry. Well, if it were for safety reasons, I could understand a "no jewelry" policy, but that's about it.

Hmm... Perhaps I might modify my response. Perhaps there could be religion that was just about helping a person enjoy a full life in this world rather than appealing to transcendence?

Without the fear of punishment or the possible denial of an enticing reward, no religion would exist.
In short, I don't think anyone would be. Where would be the benefit?

Hanging out with my son tonight. Cleaning house, going shopping, getting the boy a haircut tomorrow morning and afternoon. Picking up ex-wife to let her spend some time with our son. Taking that opportunity to go out with a friend to paint the town taupe (or so he says). Then working most of Sunday. Ugh.

I was rather under the impression that I should probably not have been allowed to be around a girl alone. I left when I was 18, so I never really got much a chance to date while a JW.
And even after, I didn't actually "date". I would "go steady" with a girl for a while, and when we broke up, later, I'd end up "going steady" with another. I never really dated until after my separation from my now ex-wife back in... 2003. It was actually quite fun. No commitments, just go out for dinner, drinks, and whatever happened after that.
I made sure I kept it that way until such a time as I met a very, very special woman, which I now have.
