LOL! If I could find any pictures of women angels, I'd post them. All I can seem to find are pictures of women demons.

I've long held the opinion that the media only tells us what has been approved by the government.
This applies to just about every single government on earth. I actually watched something on PBS last night that touched on this very subject.
(Independent Lens - Director Cal Skaggs' “Democracy on Deadline” looks at challenges faced by reporters on the job in Mexico, Israel, Russia, Afghanistan and the U.S.)
This pressure by government to at very least emphasize the stories they want emphasized and water down those they want watered down, is not strictly a U.S. institution.

I am thankful for:
- My son. Healthy, happy and teaching me new things daily.
- Brigid, and the wonder that she is, the cool, blue river of my unconscious waters.
- My family. For being the fertile earth upon which I grow.
- My friends. For providing the... fertilization for my soul. (Yeah, they're all full of $hit. )

Ohhh... LOKadin... You are under the impression that we are primarily current, active Jehovah's Witnesses. This forum is primarily made of people who are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses or who are looking to get out of this high control sect (cult).
Many, many of us here are atheists, in fact.

Do you really wish you could have faded?
by megsmomma ini didn't really even concider(or know about) doing this at the time i da'd....i just kind of jumped off the deep end and didn't look back.
i don't know if that was a very healthy thing for me to do, because i was not sure why i did it and i was quite lost in the world.
it took me 7 years to realize i did the right thing and that jw's are nothing but a dangerous cult.. sometimes i wish i had faded out, so as to not miss my mom.....however it seems that going through all that may be harder that just jumping.

Absolutely not! And waste years trying to appease a bunch of people, even family? I couldn't have done it.
Thankfully, I never got dunked. If I had been, I think the dynamics may have been different. Maybe fading would have been the option to take.
As it is, I was never baptised and I got out rather cleanly.

Teen bullied to death
by Elsewhere inif i had a kid who was being bullied... they better tie me up... there's no telling what i might do to the bullies.
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23375378-details/boy%2c+13%2c+hangs+himself+after+bullies+pelt+him+with+food/article.doalthough they found some evidence of bullying, there was nothing that would justify criminal action.. this is the problem.
bullying is not seen as a crime!

This pissed me off too. Kudos to you, delilah, big kudos, for taking the stand you did for your son and for allowing him to take his.
My son has yet to deal with bullies at his school. Then again, he's only five. But I've already taken preemptive steps. I've told him that under no circumstances is he to start a fight with anyone, nor to bully anyone. But if someone messes with him, bullies him, pushes him, he absolutely has my permission to knock his block off and I will defend him with the staff and administration.
I didn't go through a whole lot of bullying in school. But I saw a lot of it and felt helpless (trained to be a sheepish, meek, "turn-the-other-cheek" kind of guy as a JW) to do anything about it. Once, in 7th grade, I got into a fight with a guy for picking on another Witness friend of mine, but that's about the extent of it.

by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .

Star moore expunged
I saw the bloody killing of Indians on the History channel.
willyloman elaborated
The History Channel had a documentary a few nights back about the origin of Thanksgiving. The pilgrims landed in Massachusetts in the winter and managed to survive it, although many died from pneumonia. Those who survived until spring started planting and hunting and at the end of autumn decided to celebrate a good harvest, and their own good fortune for making it through a difficult year thousands of miles from home in a strange land. They put on a feast.
As they were sitting down to eat, the Indians who were their neighbors, and with whom they had developed some trade and had a peaceful if not uneasy relationship, showed up. The documentary said it is still unclear whether they were invited or just dropped in, but they were invited to stay and eat. It was a fascinating account of the whole story. The harvest dinner had nothing to do with slaughtering Indians, or anyone else.
I guess Star kept switching back and forth between the History Channel show and some shoot-em-up and just got confused.

Went to a party once and ended up crashing there. It was a big party with lots of people and lots of alcohol.
I woke up with a god-awful fierce headache. I felt like my eyes were simply going to pop out of my skull. So... on the way home I decide to pop into Fry's and buy a CD burner for my PC. I mean, I've used it a number of times, but... WTF?

Pat Robertson says that Jehovah is God; all other religions worship demons
by under_believer inpretty amusing response from pat robertson to someone who wrote in.
it was striking to me how much his position resembles the witness position; throw in the whole "jehovah" thing and he sounds like a particularly bombastic circuit overseer.. .
check it out at http://www.rightwingwatch.org/2006/11/robertson_says.html.

if you are interested in participating or asking more questions about how this true religion can become a religion of science and technology
Absolutely no interest in this whatsoever. True religion?
