do you think that there is a common denominator, or are they all different people who found what they call "the truth"?.
.
A fear of frank and open discussions about Religion and/or the Bible.
A morbidfear of hearing or reading constructive critisism about Jehovahs Witness or the Watchtower Society.

not long ago, i caught the tale end of a show where this biologist believes that both apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.
therefor there is no so-called "missing link".
has anyone heard about this theory?.
The pigmy tribes, still around today are from 3-4 feet tall. The "Hobbits" don't seem so unusual.

would seem unfair to me.. the willingness to reconsider the biblei am debating whether to research the bible and have an open discussion about it.
the challenge i think is to do it without the influence from a religious source.
Have you watched the series on TLC/Discovery - "Mysteries of the Bible?" It's about as unbiased as anything I've ever seen or read. You can order the series from the TLC/Discovery Channel website. The format gives good credible information and points out different views of people but encourages you to draw your own conclusions.

for the most part i rely on my computer clock to give me the right time.. well just missed an appointment because of that .
i have adjusted the time several times - those senior's moments made me think i just forgot to to do it.. well each time i set it the stupid clock resets to the old time.
allk my other clocks are fine except the computer.. i finally realized that if i set the computer to say i am in the central time zone it just might stay at the right time until the end of the month when i can rest it for eastern time.
"Who thought of this stupid idea?"
Actually it was first proposed in the late 18th century by Ben Franklin.

For the most part the posters were respectful while being a little humorous about the witnesses......untila JW got involved in the discussion. You can see the obvious change in attitudes.

in lieu of flowers, donations made to the world wide work of jehovah's witnesses would be appreciated by the family.. anybody ever seen a witness family do this before?
i saw it in an obit in a newspaper online and it made me sick!
most people ask for donations to non-profit organizations that help fight disease like cancer, etc.
I'm a little surprised that they chose to bring up his prior military service.

i got into a discussion with a relative yesterday about 1914 and how the wts calculates the date.
an obvious discrepency is their use of the year 607bc as the date for the destruction of jerusalem.
as far as i know the wts is the only group that uses that date as opposed to the rcognised date 587. according to my aunt 607bc must be the correct date in order for the 70 yeara of slavery prophesy to work out correctly.

Is there a way that the accepted year of 587BC can be used and still have the 70 year prophecy work out or is this an example of the Bible just being wrong?

One of the most obvious is their removal of the mast head in the pre-year2000 Awake magazines stating Gods Promise to establish the New World Order before the end of the 20th century. Even worse is that it was done without comment from headquarters. Guess they thought/hoped no one would notice.
