my 6 year old daughter was best friends with another 6 year old witness girl and they go to the same school.. since our disassociation it has been difficult for them to see each other.to get around this, we have recently used my mother (who is not/never been a witness), to take the two girls out to play together.
however, two witness mothers at the school noticed that this was happening and proceeded to harrass and have a go at the other witness mother for letting her daughter associate with the 6 year old daughter of parents who have left jehovah.there has been no trips out together for the two girls since.. this to me is so cruel!
after all, there was never any contact with us.
I am so sorry to hear about your little girl. It won't mean much to her at this point in time, but she is better off in the long run. Maybe a chat with her regarding what her friend's parents believe and an honest explanation that it is the parents doing this and not the little girl will help.

I'm usually very embarrased if during an argument I realize that I'm in the wrong so I always apologise.
I do get annoyed if I admit that I'm wrong and apologize and the other person is a jerk about it.

with the population aging and with jw's becomming incresingly poor, there will be a lot more elder abuse, and i don't mean congregation elders, but elderly people.. does anyone know of this taking place in the congregations?.

I'm going to throw my two cents in the ring here.
The catholic church gets way more press then the JW's both good and negative. JW might get the occasional article in the newspaper and of course we have the Dateline, W5 and the Australian documentaries on child abuse. The catholic church abuses are mentioned ( it seems ) monthly in the newspapers, they've been the plotlines of popular tv shows and movies shown world wide. Abuse survivors show up on Oprah and other popular daytime talkshows. Novels and non-fiction books are written on the subject. It's on the front pages of magazines. The Catholic church abuse stories are everywhere you turn, it becomes hard to ignore.
Where in comparsion are the JW abuse stories? There is nowhere near the same level of exposure or public outcry because the stories aren't featured prominiently like the catholic ones. Until our stories are front and center and everywhere people turn I don't think things will change much.

I prefer the beach as long as it's not crowded. Pools are nice for privacy but the chlorine makes me itch.

i am finishing a long satin skirt and will start on a long asian influenced dress today.
this is for a mary kay convention i will be attending next week.
I can sew very simple designs. I don't have a lot of spare time to devote to it. Mostly of the hem and patch variety.
I actually had to hem a pair of capris the other day because I am, unfortunately, not very tall
I like to knit when I watch television and I used to do cross stitch quite a bit.

i have a question to anyone out there that are practicing wicca and/or are interested paganism.
a little background on me....as a little jw i never bought into the religion, however i had no choice on the subject as most of you can identify with.
when i was young, probably till the time i was around 14-15 i would have extreme deja vu.
this happens to me quite a bit as well. I have no idea why, if anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.
