I'm much to shy and self conscious to start conversations with strangers but seniors and kids tend to chat me up all the time. You can have the greatest chats with 4 year olds.

Bullies! ):
by lola28 inelsewheres thread reminded me one of the worst times in my life- middle school.
let me give you some background when i was a kid we moved a lot so i ended up in different schools.
by fourth grade i could tell that the other girls did not like me, it wasn't really bad in 4th and fifth grade but then came 6th grade.

(((Lola)))
I'm so sorry that you had to go thru that. Girls can be viscious and cruel.
It makes me so mad when teachers and others in authority positions witness bullying and do NOTHING about it! *Grrrr* All that does is give the bullies more power because they are getting away with it.

Well I worked all day (Sat), just had friends over to play board games (cause we're geeky like that). On Sunday I've got grand plans of finishing a bag I'm sewing and crocheting but I will probably spend it reading in the tub and trying not to panic about my orientation day for school on Monday.

Wanted: new parents and siblings
by sass_my_frass ini'm a 32-year-old almost-newlywed female in the market for some new family to replace the, you know... .
i need parents who will make occasional expressions of pride in my achievements, show concern during the bad times, and keep me up to date on all the gossip from home.
in exchange i'll contact you at least once per week, do my best to help you with any problems you may have, make you feel needed, travel with you to places you want to see and financially and emotionally support you as you get older!

What are the most insincere things JWs say?
by Spectrum init really makes me angry when they say i love jehovah.
they don't know what they are talking about.
if they read with an open mind the carry-ons of this cruel mesopotanian god they would feel ridiculous and embarrassed for putting this god before their family, their children.

My sis calls & says,"Your dead"&"I wish you'd died in a car accident"(long)
by morwen inya know... i'm a bit amazed at times at how utterly out of touch with reality jw's can be.
here's a little bit of a background of what's been going on....
i've been having an on going issue with my jw family about my husband & i(and our 4 young children) no longer going to meetings and us having questions/problems with this religion.we are not df'd nor da'd (at this point) but have not been to a meeting in about 7 months and have been inactive for probably 3-4 years now.we haven't lived near my parents for several years so they have been a little "in the dark" so to speak as to us being inactive but we kinda were given a bit of "lee-way" since 5 yrs.

<< It would be better if you died. >>
I got this as well years ago. It's calmed down now but it did take quite a while to get to that point.
Sorry you're going thru it, they say the most horrible things and yet blame you for them. Crazy.

Golden Age Goodies
by Leolaia inrecently i had the pleasure to examine a stash of 1920s and 1930s golden age magazines, among the rarest of watchtower publications.
i thought it would be a fun idea to have a thread in which i share with you some of the amazing, ridiculous, hilarious things contained therein.
hence, this is the first post of a series of excerpts, scans, etc.

LMAO!!
I lack incisive critism and wit but this is just too funny!!
I wonder if these outdated ideas stick around in the oldtimers minds and trickle down to the incoming newbies and future generations? There was always the critism in my old hall whenever someone would get a shorter haircut and claims would be made that it was less feminine. Maybe a watered down version of this article?
