as usual an amazing sight!
does anyone else find this as interesting as we do in florida?
Well guys and gals, I live very near the Cape and often watch from the beach not to far from my home....today I watched out the window, across my back yard.
Maybe we should have an apostafest and you all could come down......we could plan it around a lauch and hope for the best! The night lauches are awesome and they usually go up when planned!

for instance: ive read on hear many times that the wt promotes the idea that everyone whos not a witness are not friend material or will be destroyed at armageddon.
When I was 13 years old I went into hospital to have my right leg removed from just above the knee. It was the early 60's and I had a large mass on my knee that the doctors thought was cancer. As it turned out I awoke with my leg still in place, it was a bone spur on my knee that had broken off and caused a great deal of swelling and paralysis, the doctor did some rather creative surgery and saved the leg. However, I was still incapacitated for 6 months. Some of the young witnesses visited me in the hospital, but when I came home, 5 of my "wordly" girlfriends came to visit (keep in mind, we had started kindergarden together and they stood by me against the bullies when my mother converted...), while they were there, two of the committee members came to see me.....to stress how Jehovah had blessed me in not having to have my leg taken off and not having cancer. After I became mobile (crutches and wheelchair) I was called before the committee of three and questioned about how often I saw these "wordly" girls and how often the came to my home. When I explained our friendship and history...I was told I had to stop seeing them and talking to them......I truly think that is when I began to fade.
To the best of my knowledge....JW's have never dropped the "wordly association" restriction.
As for not putting the Watchtower and Awake articles on line in a PDF format.......good JW's are not supposed to spend time on the internet......so it isn't necessary. As far as the "wordly people" having access to this information on line....the time the JW's don't spend on the internet is to be spent in field service, so wordly people don't need this convenience....besides they'd be able to compare the "new light" to the "old light" and see how JW's vascillate back and forth to the convenience of the GB .

I keep mine at 78 (F), my average electric bill for my 1650 sq ft. home is $145.00 a month (includes a/c, cooking, hot water and clothes dryer). The air conditioner does not make the air colder, it pulls the humidity out of the air, so the only thing that happens when it's set really low is the evaporater coil freezes.
The weatherman told us tonight, that the temp was going to go up, so we'll be experiencing severe condiitons just like the Southwest has been experiencing. So far it's only been getting to the mid 90's here Florida. However, I'll take the heat as opposed to the hurricanes!

according to the latest jw "laws", should and active witness, much less one serving as an elder, do any work for military institutions such as the air force, navy, and u.s. army?

The Corp of Army Engineers have a lot to do with the Riparian rights along the coast of various states, i.e. underwater land leases (for marinas and docks, etc.) and is not necessarily a military faction. However I know of several witnesses that were disfellowshipped because they worked for Companies that had Government Contracts working on systems for the Military. So how he got away with this being self employed is a big mystery. But then....the elders pretty much do what they want anyway.

just wondering if anyone ever did put down more hours/placements etc on their report than they actually did.. i know that i did.
the reason was that i was pioneering and working full time.
it just got too much and i ended up adding hours.
Yes, particularly when full time pioneering in below zero weather! I waited for Jehovah to make sure I was found out....he never did! I felt so guilty about it at the time.
here is how i view it:
how many people here know someone who died or was seriously injured in a car accident?.
how many people here know someone who died or was in any way injured by a terrorist attack?.
Well, let's see...I know of a number of people that have died in car accidents....however I only knew one personally. I lost two very good friends in the September 11, 2001 destruction of the WTC.
As mentioned previously...the Irish have lived with terrorism for a number of years (ironically in the name of religion as well as politics), I believe terrorism has been affecting people in Isreal, Croatia and Bosnia for a number of years.....I don't think anyone gets used to it....I think we learn to live around it, because if we don't the terrorists win.
