Who did you hang around with amongst the JW's in your congregation?
by JH ini used to hang around with the marginal witnesses, the ones considered weak.
those that missed meeetings occasionally, like me.. i used to go out in the service mostly with them and give them a lift to and from the hall.. it's as if i fit in better with more humble witnesses.. .

I hung out with the kids puttin on aires as jws but behind closed doors were the wild ones that still some how found it okay to tattle to the elders about other kids. I remember hanging out with kids that my parents had heard alot about ..sorta rich and servicy kids. Then at an assembly i got permission to ride with them to get lunch and the cd that they chose to play was madonnas new cd. The one with "waiting for you". The dominatrix cd. I had NEVER heard music like that before and felt very uncomfortable. That was my first realization that people aren't what they seem.

So.. just say to him.. "can you go brush your teeth now?".. I have had convos with him discussing others brushing habits and how nasty it is if my hubby hasn't brushed his teeth first thing in the morning. Hoping he will get the hint. Also..since he has stayed here i have had to clean pee from around the bottom of the toilet EVERY DAY. I made an anouncement to him and my hubby to make it seem like i was saying it to the men of the house not just to him. I said "there are disinfecting wipes for you men to wipe around the toilet after you are done".

I forgot to mention..My jw parents came and saw my xmas tree!!!!

they went to visit my brother and it went okay.
even though my brother wasn't informed that my mom would be showing up too.

The reason he didn't dance with me at my wedding is because my husband was df'd along time ago for heavy petting ONCE with me. And because I dated and chose to marry him the elders counseled me and then talked to my parents about being CAREFUL. The deco'd house could have been easily taken as the disfellowshipped hubby taking his right as head of household to deco for xmas. I am just the subordinate wife. I however didn't give any verbal reasons for them to believe one way or the other.

Then it was my turn... my dad kept saying that they are gonna come visit then finally called and said "we thought we could come over TOMORROW'. Luckily me and my brother had already discussed this scenario and what to say 'IF'. So i told dad ' i don't mind ya'll coming over at all as long as you don't mind the decorations that we have up". There was a long pause and some stuttering around and he said that he doesn't mind. They came over and lights were on the house.. a moving doe, blow up snowman and candycanes were in front a jingle bell wreath on the door and nice xmas tree all decod right by the front door. The big elephant in the room was never mentioned. The "you are in good standing and reinstated but have all this stuff up" didn't get mentioned even in any passive aggresive comments that we have come to expect from our mother. It was one of the most odd visits i have ever had.
And sorta of the sub but about my dad... he really is coming around but with mom around him all the time trying to be a 'good jw' it really wont sink in till she is gone. Mom is feeling more ...herself.. lately and is getting more active and talkative. She got hooked up to the meeting yesterday and afterwards started talking with dad about how she is worried about me and what i am doing.. or not doing. Dad is disillusioned enough to know that the jw aren't really his friends etc. I snuck in a quote from Hitler that i saw on this board about repeating info to get people to do what you want and how that is brainwashing. Dad started getting nervous about this discussion. I just calmly scaled back a little saying... dad...it is brainwashing if the elders can plant a seed of guilt so big in you that you leave my wedding and choose not to dance with me at my reception when I didn't do anything wrong. He agreed but wanted to not talk about all this again as it upsets him. ((to hear the truth when you are just starting to see it is pretty painful if i remember correctly))
Anyway.. that is my jabber session for this morning. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Your Feelings On Getting Reinstated For Family Considerations

I got reinstated for my familys sake. It was a LONG time ago. I at first wasn't able to go back to the meetings because I had such hatred for the men standing on stage. I cried and asked aloud 'how can I do this? How can I go back and not shoot daggers from my eyes and cry at the meetings? A loud voice came into my head and said "FORGIVE'. I mentioned this to the elders during my reinstating meeting and of course they didn't care to hear something like that. Well I got reinstated with no privileges of course. (aww bummer - They probably saved me from wanting to tell it like it really is as one of my comments) I left Texas and moved to Montana and the odd thing is the elder told my parents that I am leaving in good standing. I haven't really been back since and haven't had any calls from elders.. i just faded away. For me it was a good thing at the time.. but if I had not done so and was contemplating doing it now.. now that I have eyes WIDE open to everything I believe that I wouldn't play the game and come back. Then again.. if its a dying wish of my mom or dad and they haven't been hateful or mean to me then I may reconsider. Its really a personal decision for each to take on themselves.

we haven't already noticed that she tends to play both sides by not giving full or correct information to us.
anyway.. my daughter comes back on sunday night and tells me how she read a book about taking care of her body and that she needs to take a bath every night instead of every other night unless excessive activity then every night.

Thank you for your suggestions and comments. The situation is alot more complicated then I have stated in the post. Scully has came the closest to understanding the severity of the situation. It has seemed from the get-go that there is an underlying motivation for what the bio-dad says and does. Most e-mails that have the tone that i posted no matter the topic have the underlying tone of -we are better parents then you. I have and will continue to document every convo- phone or e-mail for any unfortunate court appearance. We found him when V was just turning 6 yrs old and she is now 8. He offered to sign his rights away then and there. Hind sight is a pain in the arse. I try to communicate but if one person is working at being the nice parent and the other isn't there isn't much I can do...but defend and stand my ground. He has even griped at me for talking to my daughters teacher without him being present!!!! He is trying to take control of everything and I can't allow him to. I may have made a slight jab in the message but I feel it was neccassary and not even close to how rude and condecending he was being. In the movies when someone is being verbally attacked and then defends themselves everyone hoots and hollers.

i was raised in "the truth", and for the longest time it was all i knew.
i spent my childhood going through all the things that other witness children went through; not celebrating holidays, not standing up and reciting the pledge of allegiance, not going to school events, or associating with "worldly" children much.

Welcome SL! I completely understand what you mean. I remember when I first started doubting and how wrong / right it felt. Wrong according to JW .. right according to my whole being.
