The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is that I feel i have to hide it. Jws might stop by or family might pop over uninvited and see my evil halloween deco. I could blame it on my df'd hubby.

You say her hubby is controling. That is something I am sure he is all by himself but the JW religion sorta feeds him that idea as well. Your sis will have to come to terms with being married to a controling hubby.. not just a controling JW. Show her Love and support. She will need it. Hopefully she will know one day that she deserves more respect and support from a husband then what she is getting. But him being a JW will make that harder since there is alot of room for guilt trips if the wifey doesn't OBEY. I hope you find what you need here. Good luck.

A Death in Yellowstone
by Preston inmy mom called me while i was at work today and told me that two people from my old congregation died in september.
i guess it was "national" news but it flew over my head.
drew and brent speedie were jehovah's witnesses that went to my old congregation and although they weren't "popular" or well known, i got to know them pretty well.

Daystar, I too remember the wide eyed stare.. But I also felt sorry for them. I am a very social person and couldn't imagine being unable to speak!!!!! So I would smile and sometimes even sneak a wave to them.

My husband is very into breasts. Sometimes I feel like I am just there watching an affair between my husband and my chest. lol
He even said the other day .. to my comment of I don't want to get fat.. " I don't mind if you gained more weight..you would get bigger boobs.. right?"

Were you ever "caught", then lied to the would-be tattle tale?
by AlmostAtheist ini can just imagine the scenario.
you're a jw, but you're waking up to it all.
you know your eternal salvation doesn't depend on obeying every 'particle of a letter' in the law of the watchtower.

Well.. If the Enya Bidniss woman is like my mother she may ask the brother/elder about the convo and if it was regarding the smoking. My mother some how has even gotten elders to mention if the person is reproved or not..etc.

This past sunday's wt had a hilarious paragraph...
by Check_Your_Premises ini think it was paragraph 18 or right around there.. the gist of ithe paragraph was, "some will lose faith because our predictions failed, some of our stuff doesn't make sense, or someone treats us like crap".. the answers were just a riot.
i couldn't help but wonder if some weren't faders.. "i remember when i started in the truth, i thought, this stuff is crazy, but i just knew it was the truth because where else could i go".
"where else can we go" (i would like to point out that this is hardly a ringing endorsement).

It actually says " those who become disgruntled because of fleshly thinking or unfulfilled expectations .."
They wont say thier predictions failed.. but thier followers got the idea that certian things were supposed to happen at a certain time and if it didn't happen when they expected them too then its thier own fault.

My mother , just today, brought up this EXACT paragraph!!! When I asked her what her point was she said ' I just don't want you to be disgruntled. " "oh... im not mom" .. "whew.. good glad to hear it" she said. " yea cause if i was still going to the meetings I would be disgruntled so thats why I don't go anymore".
