3 yr old tells school friends they'll be destroyed at Armageddon
by not bitter inevery now and then my mum reminds me of the time when she was called to my nursery school by the head teacher because i had been telling all my friends that they would be destroyed at armageddon.
can you imagine what the other parents must have thought when little johnny and little doris went home crying asking why they were going to be destroyed for not sharing a toy.. my mum seems to think it hilarious and implies that i was the one being naughty for saying it in the first place.
i should never have learnt such things!!

Could ''boredom'' at the Kingdom Hall be one reason why some members leave?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inyou'll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea earl nightingale quotes (us motivational writer and author, 1921-1989).
let's forget that most members leave due to the wrong beliefs,doctrines and practices of the wts!.
i was bored out of my mind from the repetitive: talks,prayers,ministry school demonstrations,field service talks(peddle magazines),assemblies,special talks and watchtower magazine study articles.

Saw my JW father the other day
by Paralipomenon ini'm still a bit torn on the issue of associating with my parents.
they have made absolutely no effort to keep in touch and usually any contact results in a generic witness email reply.. i have been at the point that i really don't need or care for their influence in my life for a while but i keep flipping back and forth between cutting off all contact and being the bigger person and at least give them updates.. so, in light of their recent aniversary, i went to the store and tried to pick them out a card.
i never really realized how difficult that is if you're looking for a card to actually mean what you say.. unfortunately i didn't find a card that said "sorry you two are trapped in a loveless marriage and i could really care less about your opinions" so i settled for the least bit sappy i could find.. i put the kid's school pictures in and while out running errands dropped it off.

Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but this rubs me the wrong way. You're supposed to "reach out" for the privilege of being merely tolerated?

Can You "Read" People?
by minimus inmisery wrote on a thread how those of us who were born into the jw religion were taught how to read people.
we learn how to look for their weaknesses, their joys, what seems to be troubling them, what their yard looks like, etc.. do you have this ability, in all honesty?
i am told that i have that ability and it freaks people out sometimes (in a good way).

That's why you need a lawyer more than anything. You need to protect your assets. Remember, she'll have half the congregation coaching her on how to screw you out of $$$. You need to know your rights and how to protect them, and only a lawyer can help you do that legally.

First thing to do is see a lawyer to make sure all your rights are protected. A lawyer can help you plan your escape as well. You may want to consider counselling too. Ten years on a battlefield can take its toll on the best of us.
Your wife sounds a lot like my ex, except my ex didn't scream and curse. She had other, well refined ways, of making a man feel like a piece of shit, and she had it down to an art. I left her and the cult 7 years ago and never looked back. Today I live in my own home where it's quiet and peaceful, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

my suggestion is, if its possible, to create an invite-only section of the board for truly private support.. .

I guess I could make membership contain an agreement that they are not a representative of the WTS or local congregation but that is a bit restrictive and again, what happens if they are?
I don't think that would weed out elders who like to use their "theocratic warefare" loophole.

I was walking my dog and JWs told me about some good news!
by moshe inwell, it was a nice morning to take my dog for a walk and about a mile from my home i met a car load of jws working the condos.
two brothers hit on me before they went back to their car.
apparently they hadn't been able to talk to anyone this morning -10:30am, so they were eager to find a stooge who would listen to them.. i immediately decided i wouldn't talk about their doctrine, so i jumped on the flood of noah after they got the intros out of the way.

This is easy to explain. The water came from nearby Venus, so the increased pressure wasn't actually on the earth. Jehovah assigned myriads of angels to form a bucket brigade from Venus to the earth to dump the water here. Hope this helps.
