did you ever feel like these all were like a military chain of command?.
and i think i'm just realizing this, but are females not allowed to give talks, or is that not correct?
if not, i know in scripture (1 timothy) it talks about women not being "teachers" of men, or something similar, but when i think back.....at work, i never hear of the females having ever given talks, i always here about the guys.. if i'm correct, as a female in the wts, did that t you off or were you relieved of not having to deal with it anyway?.
The whole organizatioin is much more structured and modelled exactly per any typical worldwide sales company rather than the pattern of the first Christian congregations.

my history as a jehovahs witness could easily be summed .
................1959 @ 7 years old......1st year of not celebrating christmas...........what do you mean no presents??? parents went to '58 international convention in new york, yankee stadium.
for some strange reason life was never the same.......until 1977 after being a ministerial servent & seeing the "good ol' boy" system at it's best....walked away without a single look back. divorced my materialistic, never enough things, good jw wife....got a live in girl friend.....laughed at the fake shock of all the brothers & sisters, secretly doing what they were critcizing every one else for.....
been with my 2nd wife since 1981, raised 2 kids, now raising my 11 year old adopted daughter.....who by the way thinks her daddy hung the moon.....and i did, ya know.
since i left the "falsehood".....all but 1 of my 8...no 9...or is it 10 siblings have freed themselves.......life is good.....

to begin the week, monday, i was hung over.

something about attending just to see the scantily sisters and taking some vodka in a flask.

my favorite would have to be marvin the martian (first appearance 1948).
everything about him cracks me up, from his roman gladiator helmet and kilt, to the way he walks and speaks ("that makes me angry, very angry indeed"), to the ultra cool devices he uses (suprisingly, from acme, who apparantly has outlets on mars).
a very close second, almost a tie, would have to go to droopy (first appearance 1943), who also walks and speaks in a humorous manner, and who has abilities far beyond what would be expected from his dimunitive size.

i've been doing alot of introspection lately, and i've been wondering this about myself.. what has been your experience?.
do we carry our pain around for so long that it becomes a companion, a part of our self-identity?.
though we know it will benefit us to let it go, do we hold on to it, not wanting to lose an old friend, an integral part of ourselves?.
............my glass is always 1/2 full..........pain? what pain.......life is good

my husband and i were just wondering.......if a son, who is a jw, inherits a large sum of money from his non-jw parents, is he required by his kh or the wts to give a portion to them??.

...........lavender...i'm with your husband. why help the wts...they already have plenty freely given to them by followers.
but........if you are leaving money to your kids, as an inheritence, gift or whatever...does a parent have the right to say how it is spent? if you are giving because you love your children & obviously you do, wouldn't their happiness be your most important goal?

it's been a nine year battle, but i'm finally graduating from college with a bachelor's degree and a certificate.
it's important to me that this community knows that.
there are probably a lot of you here who didn't allow themselves to go to college.

i've been posting on here for four years now, and so much has changed in my life.
everything seemed to be going wrong then, but time has done wonders and things are real good now.
lots of people on the board helped and supported me through that, as well as new non-witness friends that i made.
way to go gadget, your wife is beautiful. may your life be full of all the happiness deserved......

the tribulation is really starting to speed up it's pace.
i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.
global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.
