A couple of questions for those who have been reinstated

i have a couple of questions for anyone who has been reinstated.. what kinds of questions did they ask you?.

if they decided to reinstate you were you told not to discuss why you were dfed, especially if another jw was involved?

Another question: Does the new congregation contact the old congregation and get the dirt on your dfing? Do they need your old P.O.s opinion? Do they contact ex wives and husbands? If they dont know you, do they reinstate soley on the letters and the exhibited conduct? Do they come out to your house and make an inspection? Whats the shortest time spent Dfd?....besides Kwins?

hey all - glad to be back .

in case you've been wondering (and since i haven't been on - no power obviously), the damage down here in fort lauderdale is quite extensive.

i've been hearing from others that the media has been downplaying the severity of the the hit - but for those of us going through it, it was quite impressive.

Whoa Nellie! Glad to hear you made it through! You know, when a report of a big storm comes my way, I'm going to tank up on gas. I never fill it full, but when a big storm comes I think it is time.

Bird Flu

is anyone following the bird flu reports?

the government in britain are officially preparing for 50,000 deaths in britain and unofficially 750,000.. .

we have ordered vaccines but we are low down on the list for vaccines in europe because our government placed the order late.

My husband is about to pull the plug on the t.v. if I panic about another disaster or outbreak. I kid you not. He does not panic about huge disasters. Now if his bunny gets a poo stuck on his butt he gets all in a bunch over that. (Seriously last year the rabbit got maggots) But when it comes to twin towers, avian pandemic flu, world war, or God's wrath, he pretty much feels we will survive.

A Death in Yellowstone

my mom called me while i was at work today and told me that two people from my old congregation died in september.

i guess it was "national" news but it flew over my head.

drew and brent speedie were jehovah's witnesses that went to my old congregation and although they weren't "popular" or well known, i got to know them pretty well.

Yes, they said something about recommending the pedophiles attend a meeting during the peak hours of trick or treating. I think that is very smart! Yes, parents beware!

my halloween costume!

here's my first halloween costume!.

i'm going to fix it up some though, cuz our friend is having an 80's themed party, so i figured i could be "punk rainbow brite".

i went and bought some fishnets yesterday and i'm going to wear those w/ my combat boots.

You know, during my childhood my mom was er a sick most of the time. Actually she was drunk as a sailor most of the time. But she did manage to make me one Halloween costume before she died with yellow eyes.
It was a pumpkin costume. That would not be so bad, but due to emotional eating I was as fat as a baby whale when I was only 8 years old and that pumpkin outfit represented ridicule and failure to me.
I wore it but I hated it.... and I hated her.

How funny that now I see in stores pumpkin costumes very similar to the one mom made for me from scratch way back in the early 60s.

Funny too, I still hate them.

While perusing the t.v. channels this morning I came upon the end of a news alert that said a certain town was outlawing the known pedophiles from participating in Halloween.
They have been ordered to remain in their homes and not answer the doors should little children come knocking on them.

Did anyone else hear that news alert?
Where was this anyway?
