Whats the cruelest thing a JW has eva done to you
by VioletAnai ini think the most thoughtless thing they eva did to me...and it's rather embarrassing...is when i was still a jw at 14.. i'd just had an operation to remove a cyst and my left ovary due to polycystic ovarian syndrome.
so i'm sitting at the district convention and i get up to go and have lunch with my mum cause i was sitting with an sister a little older than me - in her 20's.
so i start walking across the oval and there's people everywhere and i'm getting a few looks, but hey, i was a paranoid teen, they made me agoraphobic, so i didn't think too much of it.

You poor thing violet that was cruel, the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me was after i gave birth to my first child, she was in hospital because she was born 9 weeks prem, i was expressing my milk and taking it in to the hospital for her, we had to go to an assembly and everytime the babies would cry my breasts would start leaking, so i would have to go and change my nursing pads, in the end they wern't helping at all so i had to cut up some sanitary pads and use them instead as they were thicker, to cut a long story short not only did one fall out but my dress was so full of milk it turned to like cardboard and was stiff like starch and everyone could see, it was very embarrassing for me, and also emotional because everyone had their babies with them and all i had was soggy breasts and a cardboard dress.

What should I do?
by Shimmer ini just got a call from a very sweet sister from the kingdom hall, telling me that i am her householder for her talk tomorrow night.
i have not been to a meeting since november.
i have managed to avoid elder's calls.
-
chezza
Hi shimmer, this may sound silly but does she have an answering machine and if she does call when you know she wont be home and just discreetly say i wont be able to make the meeting tomorrow could you please find another householder, and i must say i am a little surprised that you havnt been to a meeting since november and she actually called you.
On another note your comment about the repurcussions of da, my sister drifted away quietly and was not active for over 18 months, in which time not one elder went to see her, but as soon as someone in the congregation decided to gossip that she was living with a guy they actually disfellowshipped her, so your never going to be free from their watchful eyes.

disfellowshipping and suicide
by LyinEyes inmy mother had been a faithful witness for 16 yrs, she got addicted to prescription drugs and things got very bad for her.
she overdosed one nite and was put in rehab.
she began smoking after rehab and was disfellowhipped for it, she got a letter in the mail .

Who remembers Cake Nights?
by 2SYN in<fluff> .
at the book studies?
they were the highlight of the month.. thing is, all the sisters would try to outdo each other making nice food, which amused me no end, and also kept my stomach filled up, but drove me nuts, because my mother would spend the entire afternoon making a giant racket in the kitchen and screaming @ my sister whilst doing it, just to bake a cool cake for the book study.. also, remember those last ~15 minutes before the end of cake night book studies?

I remember the cake nights very well, and i believe they still go on in the local congregation, monthly, the first monday night in the month to be exact, and i remember the afternoons making the cakes trying to outdo sister so and so, i remember the pizza nights, we had the honor (excuse me while i puke) of having the book study at our house, we also had a pool table and you would be surprised how many would hang around after the meeting to hopefully get invited to stay and play, it was rather annoying whe your favorite tv show was going to be on and you really wanted everyone to leave.

One day your gonna get caught
by chezza injust thought it would be fun to see all the ways people have been caught in the middle of something, i recently was so embarrassed as i travelled to canada to visit my boyfriend, after we went to the movies we got rather heated in the car shall we say, mind you the car was packed away from all other cars, needless to say as soon as we got our pants down and started to get into motion ;-) a light shone through the window of the car, and guess what, a nice security guard was standing there, i was so embarrassed, he told us we shouldnt be doing that here, what made it even more embarrassing was the fact that we were both over 30 years old and i never ever got caught in the act when i was a teenager, oh wait thats coz i was a dub and didnt have a life.. so come on guys and girls give us all a laugh and tell us your story.

Should religious claims be tried in court?
by sleepy inmost people of the western world believe that the freedom to speak and express your opinion is a fundemental "right" of humans.. but how far can free speech go?.
what if i owned a cigarette firm, and i wanted to say on the packet, "somking is very benifical for you".
am i using my right to free speech, or am i misleading other people?.

chezza
Wow alamb,
Good for you, just a question though how did they respond to the court order? My children live half with me half with their father and they still go to the meetings with their dad, although my own family shun me they go out of their way to let my kids know they dont have to talk to me because jehovah doesnt like it, and they even told my kids that i am dead in jehovahs eyes. Wish i had this court order.
