What's the difference between humans and animals if there is no God

if there is no god, does this make us the most intelligent animal?.

How do you know there is only ONE god? What if there are hundreds? God of the sea, of the wind, of the land, of the sky, of the sun, you get the picture. Of course, if you believe the Bible, there is a God, and only one. But there were plenty of people who believed in many gods, and many still do.

I've exited the JWs, but sometimes I feel like I'm still stuck with Christianity. So what if most religious people in my part of the world are Christian... that's just because of the geography, not because Christianity is better or more correct than any other way of worshipping a god, gods or diety, or not worshipping anything at all.

If there is a god, I don't think he cares how he's worshipped. If he did, he'd let us know what he wanted. ALL of us, not just the western world.

JWs and the weird way they say Happy Birthday

you who don't know -- i'm daed but my mother still sends me very short e-mail about every two months.. this morning she sent me an email that said:.

25 today.

it would be sooooo wrong for someone to say -- "happy birthday" .. but its fine to mention that i am 25 today.

hello fellow jwd people....i just wanted to tell everyone "thank you" for everything on here-it has been extremely helpful for my brain to realize (i hope!!

) i'm doing the right thing to not be a witness anymore....as some of you may or may not know, i stoppped being a witness about 3 months ago.... it's a weird thing to not go to meetings anymroe/service/have only witness friends/think the end is coming and....soon.

i only left b/c of intellectual reasons, so reading everyone's posts on various subjects and whatnot has been a huge help to help dispell some of the witness "truths" that i thought were true since i was 1 year old..... and, on another random note, my profile pic is actually a pic of a duck at bethel!!!

Annoying Computer fan.

my computer fan keeps on coming on every few minutes and it is so noisy.. blueblades.

I'm absolutely no computer expert, but my fan on my laptop kept coming on, and my computer kept overheating even so. I brought it in for service and it was infected with viruses and waaaaay too many operations were running at the same time.

The computer guy cleaned up my hard drive and my computer has been fine ever since... much less fan noise, and no overheating!

feeling very sad

ive been designing my oldests graduation invitation for the last couple of days.

noticing not for the first time, how handsome he has become.

My daughter left for college this past fall, and I thought I'd lose it, too. I can't imagine when my son leaves..... I'll fall apart.

Yes, the house was MUCH quieter. Much neater, too. The first few weeks, though, she called us probably 5-10 times a day. We IM each other now too. She's been home for Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, and will be home for spring break with 4 friends!! We still talk almost every day (thank goodness for 'national' family cell-phone plans!)

You do get used to them being gone, but it's wonderful to watch them grow through this part of their lives, too. I never thought that my daughter would change as much as she has in the last 6 months. She's facing adult responsibilities and choices, which she ran out of the house ready to embrace, only to discover that it's kind of nice to have Mom's opinion and help! I love it.

Congratulations on raising a great son.

it said : for philosophical reasons, i have discontinued this web site.

i recommend no religion.

Is there some way to save the whole site to disk? Or do I have to do it one document at a time?

I'd love to save the whole thing, but I'm a computer idiot... .... So, any advice for me and the other computer illiterates out there?

a few years back a bunch of brothers in the cong.

i was in would do all night field service.

they would drive all over the county, through 4 or 5 different cities hitting all the bus stops, all night laundromats, convenience stores, gas stations, etc.

Yup, they did that around here too. I don't know if they still do or not, though.

They'd go to truck stops on the interstate, gas stations, all night diners, etc. Usually was done when there were a lot of people auxillary pioneering.

Ditto for me, too. I think I read every single page. I had a fast spot in front of my computer whenever my family left for the meeting!

I'm glad the pages are still available.
