just stumbed across it and couldnt' stop reading, or to see what was being read with the intent of setting us or someone else in your life straight?
then b/c of what you read you could no longer buy into the whole jw fraud and left the org or are in the process of leaving?

I came here because I was researching JWs because a friend of mine, a JW, invited me to memorial. I can't stay away because this is such a fascinating topic and fascinating message board. Needless to say, my attendance at memorial was my first and last JW experience.

State Truthful Facts About JWs That Make Them Look Bad, Weird, Foolish
by minimus inyou don't need to exaggerate the foibles of jws to get the point across that they are not "the truth".
can you state some facts that show that jehovah's witnesses are not "normal' and that their religion is weird and simply abnormal?.

Start over... maybe go to college, takes some classes in a subject that interests you. Pursue your own interests. Your life isn't wasted. It's never too late to pursue your interests.

Struggling with the concept of a "God"
by littleblueuk inthis topic, i'm sure, has been discussed many times, but today i am really contemplating the concept of god.. i remember vividly the old testament; the israelites slaughtering everyone in their path, men, women and children at god's direction at jericho, leaving no one alive.
i remember thinking then as a child how cruel that was.
there are many other examples.. then reading the news today i read a section in the world news about india.

If you see a child that is starving and you have the means to help the child, but withhold that help, are you acting in a moral way?
If you say "no" (and I agree with you), then how can we say that it is OK for "god" to do so?

I think I want my funeral to be something like that... to make it memorable. And I definitely want a family member wailing hysterically...

If Jw hate being a part of the world so much, why do they try...
by jetery inwhen i was a witness i remember asking one of the elders if it would be alright to donate to different causes/charities like the american cancer society,st judes hospital etc.
he told me that these organizations only provide temporary relief whereas god kingdom would provide permanent relief.
) he was so down on these organizations but yet when he needed them for help he sure didnt hesitate to ask them.

Whatever happened to "whatsoever you do for the least of my people, you do for me"?
Did I dream that?

I got my wisdom teeth out about four weeks ago. I told them that I didn't want to be aware whatsoever when they were taking them out. They knocked me out cold. It took about five seconds of laughing gas, a little prick in my arm for an IV and then I was out. I woke up an hour later after a nice nap.
The only problem was a mouth full of gauze, blood clots, and three weeks of pain... but that's another story :)

The Hope For Our Dying Home-Earth...An Inconvenient Truth
by justhuman inyesterday it was the day of the global inviroment.
as i walked to the street going to work, the main square of the capitol was filled with small children and their teachers with huge paintings, songs, art work with recycled elements demanding a cleaner plannet.
when the old generation will pass those little ones that will take in charge with all the inviromental education they had they will go for a better world.i'm sure about it, you could see it in their small eyes.

I wonder how many American care how "educated" Europeans view them.
I don't think anyone is saying that we shouldn't work towards a reduction of pollutants. America's environment has cleaned up tremendously in the last 30-40 years. But I also think that caution should be taken before embracing the cult-like mentality of the anthropomorphic global warming view. Is carbon output a factor? Maybe. Is the sun's output a factor? Maybe. Will the world end? No. Is technology progressing so that alternative sources of energy will eventually overtake fossil fuels? Yes. Should politics override good science and the market's adoption of such technology? No.
