Names of Speakers
by IMHO inwhy is that at conventions and assemblies a big point is made of introducing speakers by name, when the writers of the magazine articles and outlines are kept quite?

My understanding from people I know at Bethel is that some sisters wirte the articles and are only ok'ed by brothers so maybe that's why. Also, I was told by a CO that Assembly Speakers are rated as "A" speakers, that's why they get the parts.

For about the first ten years after I got Baptized I really felt like I did make the Truth my Own. I tried so hard to do everything by the WTS book. I even missed my mothers' funeral becasue it was held in a Church. I'd always be out on service, never miss meetings, only hang out with MS and Elders, I'd would not associate with my "wordly" family or co-workers only my spritual brothers. However, once I realized this was not the Truth I dis-owned it. I still fell like fish out of water but I'm working on making my Life my Own.

there are many definitions and lists of criteria for the concept of "cult.

I was in for 20 years, they use FEAR to keep people in and you can't ask questions. Committee matters are a Joke, Preaching is a Joke, but they are good at FEAR, how many times did you hear the line "if you want Jehovah's blessing you need to............." Empty promises,they are a FRAUD

Name one thing the JW's would like to see changed in their religion?
by JH inlets say the jw's were allowed to write down on a piece of paper, without anyone knowing who wrote what, one thing that they would like changed in their religion, what do you think most jw's would want changed?

also, i hope that there are tons of others out there who have, or have had similar feelings and experiences who can contribute insight to the discussion.. as a witness, my mind was relatively closed.

I understand where you are coming from on many points. However, I've always been open to accept people for who they are, gay, straight, whatever. But, since I left the WTS I don't trust people. I spent 20 years of my life trusting those JW's around me only to feel like a victium of fraud. I'm sure I'll learn to trust again but it will take time. I try to see good in all people and not judge them maybe that's why I would bump heads with the Elders.

Sitting here alone
by thepackage inas i've mentioned, i've stopped going to meetings three months ago, this morning i took my kids to breakfeast and they asked if i was going to meeting.
i told them no becasue i had something to to.
my youngest wanted to know why i have not shaven, really did not respond.

S. Thanks you sooooo much. I'm just trying to figure out a number of things since I never thought I'd be in this situation. I did note realize that my eyes being opened to thw WTS would cost my family.

Thanks Grouper. In case you guys are woundering, Grouper is my Best Friend. I try to do things with my girls but my Ex-wife plans all these fun things to do and I work all week so, when i get off of work my kids are tired and have already ate. On weekends she plan trips out of town and other fun stuff so when I go to pick them up my kids are excited to go out of town and if I say no, they get upset. I tell them I love them 100 times a day and hug adn kiss them the time I spend with them. He parents are not nice people adn always talk bad about me.
