I'm sure I could locate a person with fine credentials who espouses having sex with minor children, but that doesn't mean I'll agree with him. i just need some words of encouragement from other parents that i will survive my kids' teen years.
my 13 year old is trying to discover/find herself, has emotional issues--since birth, cuts/burns herself secretly--she is on prozac, in regular counseling, spent time last year in a physchiatric hospital, and just generally always has stomach aches or conflicts with other peers and is flunking math as usual as well as getting bad grades in citizenship lately.. my 17 year old son is on probation for being in a fight last fall, and does illegal stuff for cash.

I don't believe that there were that many Dubs that acted like rubes and hicks at the various hotels & motels.
I don't know XJW, I've seen brothers fill up their thermos bottles and water coolers (the portable one they use on job-sites) with milk, coffee and juice at the free breakfast buffets in the hotels.
I've also seen them grab the ENTIRE fruit basket and pass them out at lunch breakk.

i have pondered this question on many occasions.
when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.
i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.
If you've been in for more than a year and have at least average intelligence, you have probably memorized already everything that they can possibly use to "save" you.
There's no real depth, it's all repetition. I started hi-lighting passages read in the KH, and after a year I found that I wasn't really doing any more writing, seriously. Better and easier for them to keep plugging away looking for new blood than trying to convince disillusioned members using the same tired tactics.

I listened to a newly minted, 26 y/o Elder who spent 8 years at Bethel explain why everyone should submit to his greater wisdom. Left Mom and Dad's house at 18, shows up at my hall after getting the bump from Bethel, and expects to be revered?
Come back in 20 years when you have a job, a mortgage, some kids; you know, some EXPERIENCE?
