Gun control logic

the v tech shooter bought his guns legally.

gun control laws don't stop this kind of determined killer anywhere in the world.

the defenseless victims couldn't carry a gun legally on campus if they had one.

What is more important, your "right" to bear arms or the rights of 32 kids not to be killed by some nutjob?
What do you think? I really couldn't give a rat's ass about a few sheep getting killed, the most important thing to me is.....ME! If we could magically make all guns go away in the blink of an eye, and make all the violence turn into fluffy marshmallow, then I'd say let's do it; that would be great. Since we can't, I'd at least like to have a fighting chance if the chips are down. I'm also of the opinion that the only reason anyone really cares is because there were a few blondes mixed in. I have to wonder how many thousands of brown people have to die horribly before flags start flying at half-mast (as I saw today) in the USA

atrocities happen all the time.

student mass murders, genocides, the ozone layer, the environment------you name it----it all points to what witnesses assert as proof that this means we're living in the "last days of the last days".

how would you respond to such ones?.

Look What The Cat Caught!!!

my cat had this on the sidewalk playing with it!

he bit the tip of his tail off but my son and i were able to rescue him and turned him loose at our pond.

he seemed fine.... swalker.

Cats are awesome hunters. It's a good thing that when humans were evolving (yes I go to meetings every week) that the prehistoric cats didn't all get together and decide to put an end to the human experiment.

I've seen my cat learn the flight path that the house sparrows had to follow to get back to their nest and just wait there motionless, then do a six foot vertical leaop and catch the things in mid-air. And my cat is FAT and SLOW compared to the hungry ones!

Does 100% Pollution Free electricity cost less than fossil fuel now???

i'm a bit skeptical, but i thought i would give it a shot.. i've been watching my electric bill with reliant electricity and over the last year it has gone from $0.09 per kwh to about $0.15 per kw.

i looked around and discovered that green mountain, which provides 100% wind and water electricity, is charging about $0.13 per kwh.. could it be true???

could 100% renewable and pollution free energy actually cost less than fossil fuels and nuclear energy now???

Keep us posted. The thing I worry about for you (and others in your situation) is that certain Elders will feelthe need to "lovinly counsel" the spouse of the non-believer or Apostate.

It's more extreme in some congos than others I believe, but I'm curious if you, as a current JW, will allow the Elders to "counsel" your wife about the spirtual danger you create for her.

This just came up in another congo that I have a spy in. The fading brother wishes he had not let them meet with his wife or had insisted on being there. I BELIEVE that the Elders have to honor such a request under the "headship" doctines of the JWs

I scammed a Craigslist scammer!

i had a dresser for sale on craigslist and as so often occurs some guy wants to buy it and have his shipper pick it up- i emailed him and told him that craigslist says he had the m-o of a crook.. he emails me back and say he is still interested and will pay the fullprice, so i changed the emailed header from re: dresser $55 to re: dresser $955 and emailed back was he ok with the price and how did he want to pay for it.

his english has the syntax of someone who uses it as a 2nd language- he never saw or the mentioned the price change i did!.

so, true to form he was going to send me a cashiers check - for $3000 and i was to keep out my money and then send a western union mailgram for the difference to the shipper in a city 300 miles away- .

Why do dubs act as if 1975 wasn't failed prophesy or misleading?

from the evidence i have found, it was all but etched in stone.

so why try and defend the wts by saying "they never stated armageddon would be in 1975", as one witness tried to throw back at me.. seems that you could show them all the evidence in the world of this false organization, and it will repel right off them.

is there some sort of "force field" kool-aid they're serving at the halls?.

That's a pretty apt description. What you experenced is what I call a "designed personality". Someone told them what they should be like and they followed the example made by the crowd. This is why you'll see the same make-up in every congo. There are always the "Super-Sisters" there is always the "Holier Than Bethel" couple, the "Anointed Old Guy", the "Jehovah Luvin' Youths" etc. Every JW recognizes them.

As far as failed prophecy go, I consider the October 1914 End-of-the-world prophect to be even worse. THen President Russell even climbed Mt Zion so he would be the first to be "taken"

The 1995 generation change was probably worse as well since it involved basic doctrine and was wiped out without explanation.

i was in the borg for 20 years and didnt realize you had to confess, until my daughter did a dirty deed.. she was hysterical one evening, after seeing her bf and told us that they had been doing a bit of fumbling and now her bf needed to confess to the elders!!!!!!!!!!.

i was really shocked, i asked if she was truly sorry and she said yes, did she think jehovah forgave our sins if we were really sorry.

she said this wasnt enough.

According to the Bible, you don't need to confessto any man.

It is not required in the JWs either (strictly speaking)

If you are ACCUSED of a sin based on another persons confession, then you have the biblical right to deny it as long as there were not two witnesses.
