Elder visit - follow up

well, i still haven't met with him yet.. i specifically told him to make an appointment first, and that my husband had to be present.. but, what is he doing?

totally the opposite!!!.

he hasn't called to make the appointment, last saturday he sent his wife to knock on my door (which i did not answered), and he showed up yesterday afternoon (without calling first).

large numbers of jw congregations are going to be trouble long before they lose their last elder to death or resignation.. most congregations i know have at least one - and often several - elders who can barely function at all, due to illness, old age.

or just plain inability to accomplish anything.

the society seems loathe to remove these men, despite their 'elder in name only'.

It's very common that the Org will "lovingly move" Bros from one location to another even if it id at gret hardship to the Bro.

Of course since "God" is asking them to do it; they do it!

This above, from the Bethel letter, is a bit confusing. What does it actually mean? Are there only a million+ folks left in the U.S. to be witnessed to?

Means exactly what it says. Only a million out of 300 million do not live in an assigned territory, that is, close enough to a Hall to get bothered all the time.

I'd be more concerned about the 300 rather than the one but that's just me.

Assemblies

so i was invited to an assembly by my jw teacher .

i think i will be pretty bored and feel out of place.

it is a 3 day assembly this summer and the jw said they were to invite everyone (interested).

They will put a lot of effort into making you feel you belong there.

Is that why the baptized Dubz wear special badges at the convention and the "outsiders" do not?

I found they introduce a lot of lip service to claim that they like to treat folks equally but it's really nothing but a bunch of hooey. They are extremely divisive and have seperated the world into two and a half groups; "in", "out" and "studying".

If you are a study, then you will be tolerated but only because the Watchtower has provided specific instructions that they must do so. If you are not "in" you are beneath the contempt of the "Super-Dubz" who dictate the rules in the congo. They will honor you with a crocodile sneer from time to time but love as a functional human might recognize it? Not a chance.

I feel obligated to share the story (once again) of the annointed PO whose wife is dying. He is a "Super-Dub" and takes Organization advice and regulations to the extreme. His four daughters all DF'ed for various reasons (none of them is a "bad" person, they just don't swallow the Dub lies) and so they are "dead" to him. Rather than letting them attend to their Mom as she dies painfully from cancer, he will not let them visit her because men (even school janitors) are the "head" of their familyand his decision is final even regarding the relationship between a Mother and her children. The local sisters attend to the Mom, clean the house, cook the food, wash the clothes, bathe the Mom, etc. etc.

Whatever "love" you feel amongst them it is false and can be withdrawn as the whims of the Org. dictate. If a couple can "dis-own" their four children for what are really nothing more than faith-based concepts guess how important YOU are? I use the badges as an example that they DO NOT consider you their "equal".

If A JW Came To Your Door, What Would You Do???

Funny because two showed up today.

The ex-CO was on an expansion binge so he ordered the start of a new congo in my area. We had been going to a Hall about 25 minutes from the house, and with the stroke of a pen as a loving gesture to help us and make it easier to attend meetings, he started a new one in the KH about 5 minutes from my house.

Trouble is that we could only use the close Hall for book studies and would have to travel over an HOUR to get to the other four meetings.

Apart from being really stupid, It's really annoying when other Dubz wonder why I might be offended by that.

One thing (and there are several other examples) was the description of why ambulances should be "on-call" for DA's and not contracted to be parked outside the building.

"It's expensive"

The balance sheet shows a profit of almost $50K for the example Assembly but cost is paramount over safety. Is that loving?

There are even instructions on how to gloss over deaths of delegates at the Assembly so it's something that they are prepared for, but won't spend a grand to help prevent.

I hope they all die burning.

Anger over disfellowshipping

i have now spoken with a couple of worldly people regarding the practise of disfellowshipping.

having been out of the org for a few months i now feel confident enough to expose the things that i knew were wrong.

d/f was one of the biggest issues i had.

It is a control tactic the JW's and Amish use to keep their prisoners in line. I sat through a Public Meeting in November (I think) during which the WTBS described the Mennonites as "horribly cruel" because they shunned two members who started studying with Dubz. I could only think "WTF are they STUPID or something?"

the issue contains the "life story" of a brother who has been in for sixty years, but it really sounds like someone from jwd who is subtly bashing the org.. according to him he only got dunked some 60 years ago because "my mother (repeatedly) emphasized one point to me; armageddon is coming soon"!

when he was baptized to age 13 he "only understood basic bible teachings and understood that he was responsible to jehovah for my conduct".

note he specifically omits mention of the wtbs as being representive of god and fails to mention "showing glory to the elders and others" as demanded in wt 9/1/97 but is seeming to mock the wt with the "soon" remark and also with the fact that he was baptized at 13, without his parent's permission and with little knowledge.. anyway, his mom is dead and here we are 60 years later.

His Mom died listening to false prophets claiming to interpret the word of God, and he wasted his whole life. No kids? It's because he listened to a bunch of control freaks in NY who are drunk with power and wanted his slave service as a missionary rather than to his heart.

God is not stupid, he knows we don't live a thousand years anymore, and therefore must be mighty pissed that the WT and its loser minions have been saying "soon" for well beyond the lifetime of any human.
