One of the reasons for the question is that I inquired of the Pres why we do not allow the convicts at our sister congrefation to be baptized until after they are released from prison. He was unable or unwilling to provide me with a scriptural basis, but did mention that it was to ensure that "they were not able to embarrass the congo by doing the filthy things that prisoners do". So the withholding of baptism is a protection for the congregation I guess? I failed to find CYA as a biblical precaution...

What he wants is a collection of hard-luck stories about people who sold the family farm or were forced into bankruptcy because they got sick and were without insurance. A friend at work knows a 35 yo guy with an EMBOLISM and blood clot in his leg who is going to die because no Surgeon will treat him without cash up-front. He has an ad in the paper right now trying to sell his car to put together the $5K deposit the cheapest Surgeon/Hospital combination demanded

ADVICE PLEASE. No lit for ex-JW - I have to put an ultimatum to my wife.
by jambon1 inif it is true that it has been announced that ex-jw`s are not to get the study watchtowers, then i must put an ultimatum to my wife.
i look through the wt's at the moment to gauge any radical teachings that i may need to counter with my 2 kids.
if my wife rewfuses to give me the 'secret' wt's then im afraid that it is the end of her taking them to the meetings.

Why are congregations dissolved?
by mtsgrad inonly once in my life have i heard of a congregation being dissolved (closed down) for reasons of sin.. .

My congo in FL was just dissolved not two months ago. Holy Spirit said it was time to split off some Bros to form a new group from an established congo, and then the older congo took some huge hits when three families (we all know how one Dub family can comprise LOTS of Publishers!) moved away so the splinter congo was dissolved. Lots of lives were royally displaced in the process, At least two families packed up from Bethel to join the greater need only to find that the Holy Spirit seemed to have made a mistake!
