That's because they really don't use the word Gospel.
We didn't sing Gospel songs, we sand "Kingdom Melodies" TM.
I wonder what they have against the word Gospel? You'd think it had 4 letters, or something!
about the only term that the society does not use is, "the gospel truth".. what they do use in connection with their current teaching:.
present truth, looking forward to new truths, their religion is the truth, infallible truth, revealed truths, rich truths, bible truths, great truths, precious truths, jewels of truths, unsealed truths, liberating truths, scriptural truths and established truths.. and that's "the gospel truth".would they lie?.

those of you who saw my threads, know that my grandpa was going to die.
you may also remember the fact
that he went from the catholic religion to jw"s, may have had this wrong at first, but in 2003. we discussed the fact
This makes no sense to me. I understand the guilt and pressure and blackmail ... I have lived through it all. But I cannot seem to rationalize in my mind why some choose to sacrifice their own personal integrity so that their famliy will talk to them! Talk about having a crisis of conscience!
My sister is doing the same thing, and has been for a couple of years now. She "went back" and has been living a double life ever since. I finally called her on it last year because she was trying to give me the same line of shit that she was giving my JW famlily. I wasn't going to rat her out or anything, but I was tired of her lying to me. She finally admitted to me that she only went back so she they would accept her back again. Now we don't ever mention it. I am not sure whether to be upset at her or at the organization(or my family) for putting her in that position to have to choose. I feel like she (and you) have to accept some responsibility because basically, you are agreeing to live a lie.
My sister decided that was best for her, as you must. I wish you the best in whatever you decide! Just make sure you can live with the consequences.
BTW ... I am sorry for your loss. Losing a loved is always difficult and creates an emotional charged atmosphere.

i remember about 5 or 6 years ago, they introduced the pioneer-assist program at one of the service meetings.the purpose of of this program was for the spiritually-strong pioneers to go out in service with an r&f member on a weekly basis for about 6 months to help build up others in the congregation.part of this was because in the mid to late 90's a large number of people had become jw's and they wanted to make good publishers with them.. anyways,my wife was quickly signed up as was another young sister down the road.my wife was excited about it and was really hoping to benefit spiritually.within a few weeks though, her pioneer partner started making up excuses why she couldn't go out with my wife until eventually their arrangement just petered out.the young sister down the road was also quickly ditched;the pioneer saying she had to care for her elderly mother(she didn't stop pioneering though).before long the pioneer clique was back to normal and the spiritually-strong pioneers were again going out in service with other spiritually-strong pioneers.i don't recall any updates or the program itself ever mentioned again at the kingdom hall, like it was just a bad experiment or a major burden on the pioneers.. does anyone have any experiences with the pioneer-assist program?
Oh God! I was one of the "spirually weak" ones that was asked to participate when they first started this. The artificial friendship I had with this pioneer became even more artificial. And you can see, it did wonders for me!
i now enjoy telling people about the things jehovah's witnesses can and cannot do.
for instance, witnesses can work in a store that sells lottery tickets and tobacco but they can't own the store themselves.....whole blood is forbidden to be transfused yet blood fractions are acceptable.
donating blood in any form is wrong but accepting blood fractions is a conscience matter.........can you think of other jw oddities????
[Insert here} is a conscience matter. But if you do it, you will be chastised, unofficially marked, or disfellowshipped. But ... it's a conscience matter! No pressure here!
ok, if any of you have read the other thread about ghosts, you will remember that i dont care too much for them!
just a few minutes ago my daugter told me she had a weird one last night here in the house, where i have never had a problem.
she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth, and "one "of the holders on the counter that are all made of heavy glass, started shaking back and forth like crazy.
Personally, I think you should start by getting rid of your smurf collection.
normally, i do not get involved in biblical debate, being that i am a doubting atheist, but a friend of mine made a comment that struck a nerve with me, probably because her mentality seems to echo those of jws.
the question was asked if all humans are considered "god's children" (was not asked by be, of course).
this was her response:.
Narkissos quoted:
Everyone who commits sin is a child of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. Those who have been born of God do not sin.
By this definition, all humans would be children of the devil since everyone sins.
And the bible is supposed to make sense?

Thanks, Blondie! As usual, you rock!
you know that d.c. isn?t the capital where the president of the united states lives .
a pioneer isn?t an 1800?s historical figure who traveled the west.
the majority of books in your parent?s bookshelf have years on them.
You know you're a JW when ... being irregular has nothing to do with bowel movements!!

If you read the Lord's prayer in context, the people Christ is teaching to pray are His followers (deciples). Only His followers are His brothers and sisters who share the same Father. Ephesians and other texts also make it clear that although God created everything and every person, and the invitation for relationship is universal, the acceptance of His invitation is not universal; therefore, not all are His children.
Do you feel the judgmentalness, or is it just me? How would you respond? Is she saying that "if you don't do what Dad says, he'll disown you?"
.
i apologize...i'm just so [edit][edit][edit][edit][edit] angry at "god" right now that i can't put it into words.. craig
