For Stevenyc:Epic of Gilgamesh and UFO's
by Franz inin a previous topic of mine regarding satans (chariot) stevenyc suggested i study gilgamesh for information on the giants (maha'ladriel) i have posted some thoughts: .
in ancient sumer clay tablets describe visits of the gods.
the gods fly in vehicles, called shems, or mu, which are described as being tall rocket like "rocks" from which fire flies.

Many of the accounts in the Hebrew Bible are easily said to be describing extra terrestrials interacting with humans. The way that Jehovah fought battles for the Israelites by shooting firey missles from the sky, the angels that would appear and people could tell just by looking at them that they were not human.
There are many theories that extra terrestrials dealt directly with ancient human civilizations and then stopped. Now there is nothing left but ancient accounts, myths, legend and lore.
I never took it seriously but I think I will read some about these Sumerian accounts.

A Muslim thinks JW's are a Menace to them
by ICBehindtheCurtain inhey guys, i found the following to be quite interesting, they have some great links to jw literature, maybe this will help the lurkers to see that the house to house preaching waste of time, is pretty redundant as many religious people are now wise to the fallacy of the borg.
what to you guys think?.

The reason that Muslims do not like JWs is that they ae alike.
I got some crazy stares from a bunch of Witnesses after 911 when I made a comparison between radical Islam and the Jews of the Hebrew Bible. Namely how both will gladly wipe out people of other faiths, man women and child in the name of their God.
I took it a step further and said 'Isn't that what you pray for when you pray for armageddon to come?"
Seems to me it would be wrong for a Witness to criticize the terrorists for killing civilians.
They didn't want to discuss it.

Bomber post, isn't it amazing how clearly you can see these contradictions and hypocrisies. When you no longer have the mental roadblocks up the mind picks up on these instances. In fact they seem to jump out at you.

I think there was another reason for the letter to be read.Kerrys mom died because the local JWs and her family was not up to date on the WTS's blood policy. It seems that if they knew hemaglobbin was permitted she would have had it and she would be alive today. Kerrys essay states they sought medical guidance from the blood brochure.
The AP article mentioned that the WTS was not too efficient at communicating its policy to its members.
I think the letter that was read, which I read and copied from the internet, encouraged JWs to seek ouit the HLC for information on blood treatments. By doing so they have provided the JWs with a resource to get info on the blood policy which could help them in court.
The responsibility is now on the individual JW to seek out the HLC and get informed. Since the WTS does not seem to intend to discuss the policy in detail in its religious publications.

Jw's and rape
by KW13 ini am a teenage lad btw...
i was shocked to read that witnesses teach that unless a woman doesn't shout out and make it clear they dont feel like being raped today, that they basically consented to it.
how stupid is that?

I actually think the Biblical rules in Deuteronomy are disgusting and degrading of women. The WTS was just trying to do what the Bible says. Notice Deuteronomy makes no allowances like the 03 WT article.
The rules on screaming seem to apply only to girls who are engaged, if they weren't engaged THEY HAD TO MARRY THE RAPIST.
Am I getting this wrong?
If my sister was raped there would be no marraige with the rapist and when I was thru thru there would be no more rapist. Thats my Deuteronomy!

The Watchtower's Great Game of "Jenga" and Exposure
by metatron injenga is a simple game in which wooden blocks are neatly piled up - and then removed, one by one, until one person ( the person who loses.
the game) makes the pile collapse.. it is tempting to see the organization in the same way - making small but significant "removals" over time.
they pull out food service.

2 Samuel chapter 24 - Don't mess with God!
by nicolaou ingod tells david, "don't count my people".
david counts the people.. god tells david, "'cos you were naughty you gotta pick your punishment, will it be 'a' 7 years of famine, 'b' 3 months of national humiliation or 'c' 3 days of pestilence?
choose davey boy!".

I do not feel obliged to believe that the God who gave us a mouth to answer questions when asked would have us remain silent.

Would you want Jesus as a friend?
by scout575 inwhilst christians like to portray jesus as the supreme example of love and mercy ( as opposed to a supposedly wicked 'watchtower god' ), does the bible's presentation of jesus cast him in quite the same flattering light that christians like to believe?
for instance, at revelation 19:15 jesus is described as 'smiting the nations and ruling them with a rod of iron and treading the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty god.
' does jesus sound just as bad as the 'wicked watchtower god'?

Which Jesus? Good question.
The JW Jesus would be a tough cookie to swallow.
Is there a different one. I think so. Who is he? I am exploring that.
Would I take him fishing? Not sure. I see him more as an enigma than a friend. Why am I even discussing him? Because he came into this world to save me? From who, God? Why was the God that created me so anxious to kill me?
It is hard to appreciate that Christ saved my life because I never felt like it was in danger. If he pulled me out of the path of a tractor trailer I guess I would be very grateful and certainly would invite him out fishing,
Is the Father a tractor trailer heading towards humanity? I never felt that way.
I liked the WTS because it was an escape. A bid daddy God was going to solve all our problems and make the world ok. Sounded good. Still sounds good.
Its the how its done part that I am not to sure about. Christians vary on the degree to which God judges humanity. I am less judgemental than many Christian portrayals of God. Jesus is God's agent. Although he is sent to save he is cognizant of the judgement and at one with God.
Jesus if he is who the Bible says would also have to be in agreement with what God has done in the past. This too would have to be a factor in any ficticious fishing trip.
I forgot the exact original post but I would say the WT jesus and I would not get along.
As for any other Jesus, that would depend on who he is. And given how the Bible is written coupled with an unfortunate lack of historical evidence it will be a challenge to find out.

Most people in the world who have the Bible and know of Jesus Christ did not recieve these from Jehovah's Witnesses.
