My uncle was restricted from progressing beyond being a ministerial servant, because of his skin colour, they cited his extended family(two uncles, one DFed, on DAed, not even on his side of the family, they were from our side) as being a reason for not allowing him to become an elder, despite the fact that another member of the family was an elder, only difference being that he was white. Perhaps it's not racism, but surely it points out that there isn't racial equality within the organisation.

*Serious Question* ...Do you ever HATE yourself by times?

I hated myself for a long time, I thought it was because there was something wrong with me, I wasn't a good Witness, I didn't have many friends, I was bullied constantly at school, and I spent most of my teenage years wasting them. I think despite all that, the real reason I hated myself, was because my Dad's rejection of me.
For a long time the only way I could see to numb the pain and self loathing, was to physically hurt myself. It's not the way to get results obviously, and it's very dangerous, I thought it was helping, but everytime I did it, I felt worse. I fell into a vicious cycle of cutting myself, and then feeling bad about what I had done, all the other problems I had weren't even contributing to my self loathing anymore.
The best way, I eventually found to help myself, was to find something I enjoyed, spending time with someone special helped aswell. For me, it was my girlfriend at the time (Of course, that led to a whole new set of troubles, but by then I was strong enough to sort them out without hurting myself)
Perhaps seeing a doctor or something could help aswell... (((((((((Legolas))))))))

I was at work last night, but I did manage to catch the Dead Ringers sketch with Tony Blair and John Culshaw, that was good. And the Bohemian Rhapsody sketch, apart from that I missed most of it.

I sing in a Barbershop Quartet. Any other singers ?
by rwagoner inmy favorite stress management tool (besides being goofy with my kids) is singing in a barbershop quartet.
just 4 voices...ringing harmonies....i know its old fashioned and sappy but i like it.. any other old..or young farts out there that sing barbershop....or other styles too?.
how does music and being able to express yourself with it effect your life?.

I used to have a good singing voice before my voice broke. I guess if we hadn't been Dubs, I might've been in a choir or something. But since then I've fronted (if you can call it that) a metal band, and performed screaming backing vocals in another metal/screamo band, but I've been bandless for about two years now. I've barely touched my guitar this month, and I feel guilty about that.
