one of the saddest and imho dishonest introductions into the popular music world in recent times is the processor introduced by antares called 'auto-tune'.. this combination of hardware and software processes the music, and especially the vocals of musicians, to automatically correct the tuning for example, of voices which cannot hold a note or sing in tune and does so in virtually real-time.

it is used by a growing number of vocalists who are untrained and cannot sing in tune and allows them to parade on stage as if they were note perfect.. numerous amateur and professional performers alike have decided that autotune is one way that removes the need for talent or hard work and have no issue with dishonestly representing themselves as long as the cash flows.

it is set to become standard equipment on tour.. i cannot help but feel that we have lost something big along the way.. hs.

I am not sure, but I do know that my experience with the accounts, assemblies, and conventions has shown me that the organization doesn't practice what it preaches. It is one thing to be cognizant of money and its power, its usefullness. It is another matter to constantly chase it.

The organization constantly worries about it and chases it. They are always putting in overtime.

Culture, Class, and Congregations

i know this is nothing new- the thought of the bible being just a story and a blend of culture and of how people interpreted the world around them and recorded it as such.

it's very athiest..y, even if don't consider myself an athiest.

because culture and class also affects how people look at the bible whether they believe it or not.

That Evil Disco??

back in october 1983, there was a craptower study article that effectively banned disco, rock, and funk music.

it also spelled the end of those rollerskating parties that the congregations used to organize.

now, i can see their reasoning behind the rock (backmasking satanic messages) and funk (dirty), even though it is very specious.. however, the "evil disco" strikes me as weird.

He told the elders at my old KH that until they made me a ministerial servant or showed a good reason why not, he wouldn't approve any others. (A spy told me how the meeting went)

when i was a witness one thing that drove me crazy was getting counsel from elders shooting personal opinions off their hip like it was from jehovah god himself.

how many times at assemblies, wt articles, etc.
