  there's a tape circulating around the witnesses stating that when the separation of the sheep and goats happens, witnesses shouldn't think that they will automatically be saved just because they're witnesses.

  if they aren't wholesouled, then they should not expect that having one foot in the "truth" and the other in the world will let them make it through the great tribulation....herd was trying to motivate the troops!

  the thread regarding how the ms and elders keeping up the facade while knowing its all wrong made me think of something.. this happened in the ministerial service meeting.

  the ms started his part on the program but it was soon evident that he was not firing on all cylinders.

  his speech was monotone, slurred even.

  Teenage brother giving a no.2 talk says to 'pummel your botty' instead of 'body'. Some young ones in the audience start giggling big time and one of them accidentally farts. The young dude giving the talk loses it and just walks off the platform and sits down.

  i am going to approach my parents (dad an elder) later this summer with my true feelings about the wt society.

  i have the cd rom and a lot of society books (plus of course the off limits wonders of google) but i happen to have just one bound volume of the watchtower 1953. it's a real gem!.

  i intend to bring this book to my meeting with them as they won't be able to say it's apostate.

  continue following me john 21:19. much of the program was similar to the previous two days.

  the fact that jesus has appeared in almost every talk title suggests that the society is once again morphing its tactics to persuade more persons that they arent an old testament cult but an alternative christian denomination.. i repeat my previous assertion that there is a manipulative intelligence at work here.

  no ordinary person could possible have such foresight and such knowledge of human behavior to think and write the things these watchtower writers do.

  Possibly if he uses the new mini-nukes, but certainly not if he can take Iran's nuclear facilities out without using them. Many experts are saying America probably has no choice but to do just that. Bushe's objective is to go all out in trying to stop the spread of nuclear weaponry and stem the scary new proliferation of nuclear weapons. The Non-Proliferation Treaty is in major jeopardy. Unfortunately America allowed Kim Il Jong to develop nuclear weaponry and hold the world to ransom. Other countries have taken notice his success. Clinton should have taken the little prick out in 1994 when he had the chance. America could not afford to let Saddam Hussein get his hands on one and it certainly cannot afford to let any other Muslim fanatic do so.
  
  But it's all too late, the horse has bolted. Nuclear weapons only keep the peace between adversaries who prefer to keep living. The game has completely changed with Al Quaeda. Their spokesmen have said it is their right to inflict 4 million deaths on Americans, to bring about an "American Hiroshima". Al Quaeda is working to become the world's 10th nuclear power. Rumours have circulated for years that in 1998 bin Laden purchased two suitcase nuclear bombs and has stored them for the right moment. Even if he didn't, it is only a matter of time.

  i was reading truthseeker's post's about the summer convention.

  s/he kept saying that the convention this year is focused on jesus.. i have been watching and comparing what is being said here and the things presented by the botchtower babble society, both in the local meetings and the assemblies/conventions.

  it seems to me, without actually looking up post's, that what is presented to the r&f follows what is challenged here in jwd by a week/month or two.. for a quick example, this particular convention is speaking about jesus.... a lot.

  "As in early Christian times, a small group of spirit-anointed Overseers make up the Governing Body of Christ's followers on earth today. By means of his "right hand" of applied power, Christ, the Head of the congregation, directs these faithful men as they supervise the Kingdom work. (Revelation 1:16, 20)"
  
  This whole statement is almost word for word the same as the last sentence of the following paragraph:

  "11 All of this means more work for the collective “slave,” a larger field of activities, extending literally to “all the inhabited earth.” It also requires larger headquarters and branch facilities for supervising the work and for printing and distributing literature for preaching and personal study. As in the first century, this work is carried out under the active leadership of Jesus Christ, who is figuratively “in the midst of the lampstands,” or congregations. He directs them by means of anointed overseers, whom he holds symbolically “in his right hand.” (Revelation 1:13, 16) As in early Christian times, a group of these anointed overseers makes up the visible Governing Body of Christ’s congregation on earth. His “right hand” of applied power directs these faithful men as they supervise the Kingdom work."
  
  There is absolutely nothing in Revelation 1: 13, 16 or 20 which gives the slightest hint of Jesus using a 'governing body' to direct all other 'anointed overseers'. In fact, Jesus' messages to the congregations in Revelation is notable for the absence of any indication of a centralised body that he was communicating through, a point that is damaging to the Society's bizarre interpretaton of Matt 24: 45-47. Revelation 1: 13, 16, 20 refer to seven stars and seven lampstands, meaning, seven angels over seven congregations, respectively. Jesus communicated directly with each congregation's 'angel'. If these angels really are congregation 'overseers' there is no hint of any intermediary governing body directing them.
  
  Where do they get from these verses that Jesus is directing the Governing Body through his ""right hand" of applied power" and that the Governing Body in turn directs all other 'anointed oversers'? This is sheer artificial interpretation to justify the GB's lording it over the flock. They are going 'beyond what is written'. And where are these 'anointed overseers' in the congregations anyway? How many elders have you known who claimed to be of the anointed? I know a brother who claims to be of the anointed; he is quite normal, he is zealous in the preaching, and yet he is not even a Ministerial Servant! And what about women who are of the anointed class - how are they 'overseers'?

  April 1st 2007 WT pounds 1918/1919!

  as if the poor dubs did not know already that jesus approved of the wts in 1919 sheesh!!!!.

  this magazine is relentless though - it pounds the 1918/19 dates over and over.

  both study articles are promo pieces for the fds theoarchy.

  Yep, the first study article of the 1 April 2007 Watchtower is a real shocker. Although they have been playing this tune for decades, there is something rather more disturbing about the tone of this latest article. The GB appear to be practically setting themselves up as a ruling clergy class with it.
  
  "Little do they know that their sneaky decoy will fail because the New World government TM could not have started until 1934 so Jesus could not have approved of the WTS until after 1934!!."
  
  2520 years after 586 CE comes to 1934. Hmmmm, now what important event in the history of the borg could the Society try and link up with 1934? What a pity they recently announced 'new light' that it seems the heavenly calling did not cease in 1935 after all. Could have easily tweaked a year somewhere to make it fit with that. There is still 1931 available for when Jehovah's Witnesses actually officialy became Jehovah's Witnesses. Maybe they could make that the new date for the start of the last days and bring back the old 'generation' teaching. Damn it's like a game of dominos.

  it's no wonder so many witnesses need medication since they must rely on the faithful slave do make decisions and do their thinking for them.. evidently jehovah changed his mind once again in the articles shown below and thanks to the fds they let the publishers in on it.. the watchtower march 1, 2002 p.30 .

  is it correct to say that jehovah's mercy tempers his justice?.

  although this expression has been used, it is best to avoid it since it seems to imply that jehovah's mercy softens or restrains his justice, as if his mercy were superior to the harsher quality of justice.

  Technically it's not really a contradiction.
  
  A contradiction is when two opposite positions are put forward as both correct at the same time. This is not the case here because the 2002 statement qualifies the change by noting that although the expression has been used before it is no longer appropriate to do so.
  
  So technically this is a correction - it's 'new light'!
