I'm starting to think like Dansk....This board has to many rules...rules are ok to keep posters from getting out of hand and bashing each other to no end but it seems to me, some rules are made on this board to keep posters in-line with exJW thinking.

It is NOT The Watchtower Society anymore?!?

i was just talking to a friend (a ms jw) that told me that he was told by the elders on a talk he was about to give that according to their last elders school there are instructions not to use the terms "the watchtower society" or "the society" or "the organization" anymore... but rather to now always use "the faithful and discreet slave" or "the slave"... .

I was told by a sister a few months ago that they no longer use the word Society but are now using the term "organization" so I'm confused! -

in the 1970/80s there were major challenges to the watchtowers theology (great crowd in heaven) and chronology (1914) in norway, alberta canada, dublin ireland and in the newyork bethel itself: but the damage caused by those involved in the dissent was limited because knowledge was dispersed merely through personal contact and minimal use of obscure publications that seldom met the eyes of witnesses innocent of the watchtowers doctrinal and chronological vacillations in any case.

Pioneer School Notes -- What a robot I was!

The way I see the WTS now with eyes wide open is: They are USERS and the members are the faithful SLAVES (volunteers) to do the biding of the these USERS. In exchange for the promise of everlasting life. That's how we got sucked in to a life of ZOOMBIE salvery.

"The friends" came over today.............
by gringojj ini am so sick of witnesses reserving catchphrases for themselves.. talking to my wifes mother today she kept referring to "the friends".
"the friends came over today, we went to lunch with the friends".
well if they are "the friends", then what the hell are everyone else?

Embarrased that you were a JW?
by Lady Lee ini have finally started to read captive hearts, captive minds.. they say something that got me to thinking.. i used to feel embarassed to tell non-jws that i was a jw.
it was one thing to tell people at the doors.
it was totally another thing to tell other people.

At times I was embarrased but if push came to shove I would always tell them I was a JW.Now that I have told my JW adult son I no longer believe the WTS is "The Truth"....He has labled me "Satan Lover"
Well, I know he will come around to see the "Big Lie" "The men in Brookyln" that WTS really is sooner or later.
