Your wedding day belongs to the elders

getting married means you get your own special day.

a day where the couple getting married gets to call the shots and decide who is gonna be invited, who is gonna be the maid of honor, who is gonna be the best man, how you want everything to look and what music you want to play.....unless of course you're a j-dub.. i got married last year, and no matter how hard i tried, i couldn't decide anything on that day.

i have an amazing friend who has always been there for me and my family.

That's the compromise you had to concede for using the KH. If you had not used the KH than surely there must be something that was not in order with how you comported before the marriage, right? And your wife did not want to start her marriage with the dark cloud of gossiping Witnesses. In this case you've been fucked from all sides:

1) from the elders side

2) from the congs side

3) from your wife's side

This is a tipical example of how social environment impacts a person. You've surrendered your own integrity for the sake of an organisation. I hope you've made amends to your best friend.

if he is trying to defend the majority of the doctrine why do it from outside the org?.

the may 9, 1918 new york times article that covered these arrests and sedition charges states that they were charged with spreading doctrines calculated to promote unrest and disloyalty among the men of the army and navy.

Thanks for the bulletpoints. Interesting stuff but these are generally viewed as admissable under the freedom of speech clause. But as I recall from the court proceedings, the book was only a minor detail. What the thing was really about was their way of producing letters to their brothers called under arms to deflect, to disobey direct orders, etc.

i'm a never baptized, raised in ex-jw who is, shall we say, outspoken against the jws.

when i first left, i told my relatives that i thought the jws were full of crap.

i tried to show them everything.

Well, there is a very simple remedy for that: Just ask what it is in their character that they think it neccessary to arrange for all kinds of trivialities that the said person can do perfectly well himself. Or short: who made you an intercessory like Jesus / mother Mary?

Ran into not One, not Two, but THREE elders at the same time!

so i'm out doing some shopping at the supermarket and as i'm walking to the checkout, i see my so and his wife (in full fs attire) talking to someone just past the checkout registers.

i am looking for the furthest checkout at this point making sure not to be noticed by the so or his wife.

well, just my freakin luck, there is only one checkout open.

Number 3: Well, written like that is poses the question of what misuse actually is .... Can't blame them using Jehovah when no one else really knows how to pronounce it, is it? But is is fair to say from gods vantage point: they are abusing him.

Number 9: If they say the world would end in 75 and that all goats will perish that's quite a profound witness against your neighbor who just so happens NOT to be a JW.

Number 10. Covet ... they covet they time, resources and strength. All for the goodnews of course ... nonetheless.

So better yet, the question should have been: which of the 10 do they live by. That would be 1.

Disfellowshipping Offense

so i went to my sister's wedding this past sunday, which happened to be smack dab in the middle of a church service.

my all faithful husband told me it was a dfing offense and that he was obligated to tell the elders that i was going to a church.

i really could care less about the actual act of being df it is the fact that my husband felt the need to "turn me in".

Well, to a husband it is ... but not to a married JW woman. She has to accept her husbands final say in these matters .... Doing things against your hubbies wishes is ... um ... rebellion which in WT speak is the same as apostacy (note that the NWT has apostasy in the OT where the base thought is rebellion). In such a case you would not be obedient and respecting your hubby. Bad woman! Thinking for yourself like Eve, do you?

There are numerous ways to access energy. The main problem is energy storage and transport. The dependance on energy as a means to work and relax has grown exponentially. The nets are outdated. This capacity problem is made worse because of the rising peak usage.

The datawarehouses all around the world are all designed around the same concept: net hooked and island capacity. Yet the island capacity is based on UPS systems that don't last long and the final backup is oil. If storage can be improved other technologies to run your systems on become readily available. At this point in time, there is lot of talk about decentralizing the energ supply for homes. One way to do that is to use the human feaces and food residues, thus decreasing the usage of water treatment plants and sewer systems. So it cuts both ways.

By allowing these technologies and creative solutions to take hold in our lives, it would finally approach the stage where vehicles can run on energy from other sources, including home made electricity.

Waste to energy projects see the burning of a lot of plastics because they are thought to be useless. Yet, these gargantuane piles of plastics can already be transformed back into oil at a 75% efficiency without the dioxine treat.

What is really neccesary is a country wide, statewide, county wide approach to energy usage and production. But I'm afraid there are some business who's profits are held in higher esteem for the moment. Nuclear can be part of the discussion but given the dangers hardly part of the solution.

Why hide at all? They are no match for you, as long as you know what to do. So in your case, just answer the door and say, no thank you. I have no inclination to make time for you. If I have I will let you know. Bye. And close the door. If they immediately call again just call the police. That's all there is to it. Nothing more. You do not have to deny yourself or hide for what you think is right for you.

fading and need some support

first i am an ex pioneer of 2-3years ago and an ex elder of 9 months ago stepping down 12 months ago and stopped commenting for about 11 months.

prior to my enlightenment/awakening i was very active and an elder that spread the love to the congragation.. their has been very little shepparding by the elders witch im glad about, however 2 month goning on 3 i'v put 0 hours in service and reported 0. the memorial is comming up.

im expecting someone or sometwo to talk with me.

Then you actually know what you should be doing namely to operate only from a position of strength. Question: do you rent it and is there a lessee protection Act applicable? If not, you may feel a burn there.

So perhaps option 1 to be evasive and weak isn't that much of a bad thing to do. Blaming depression is very good and you could combine it with somethinge else like Epstein Barr. It's a very common virus infection in humans and makes for a host of symptoms including being very tired. (a days works wears you out) (a sabatical (from the JW) with the option for unilateral extension might come in handy)

The way I went about was as long as they felt I was no threat to the peace and harmony in the cong and the family had the feeling it was only a temp lapse of zeal (mid life crisis, penopause and all that), I was ok till such a time I could make my move.

When you have your house in order, meaning you have sufficient amount of money to move to a different house (perhaps you even need to change jobs) then it would perhaps be a good time to enter the real game.
