That's fantastic! And your attitude is most excellent. I remember my mom said to me after my family was no longer in the organization anymore that all she wanted for me was to be happy. You want the same for your brother, despite the fact that this unloving organization calls for the amputation of family/friends/etc and you've lost your connection with him. I hope he does wake up, but more importantly, at least to me...I hope that he in the end is happy.

and still associating with jws... have been baptised 23 years, that was at the tender age of 13 when i had absolutely no idea what i was doing.
i have always been considered a rebel...brought up in a family by a single parent, my two brothers are both elders, the younger being a regular pioneer, my sister a regular pioneer and serving in a foreign language congregation.
well I know it's not face to face, but you can talk to any of us here without fear of being branded anything other than a free-thinker. ::HUGS:: I'm sorry that things are in a bind for you now Poppy; it's not an easy place to be. But you'll find a lot of people here that have gone through the same situations, have harbored the same doubts and also have felt the same guilt that you've expressed. You're not alone. I can also see that you have a lot of questions. Feel free to ask them, or to look in the BEST OF category. There's lots of good information there.

yesterday one of my sons had a seizure while getting ready for school in the morning.
this is the second time such a thing has taken place, the first time was his being on the way to school a couple of weeks ago--but due to circumstances it was suspected to be related to a possible heart problem, and not a seizure after all.. when my other son came into our room to let us know something crazy was going on, my husband raced upstairs and realized it was a grand mal.
he helped clear the area, and held my son's head in his arms.
that was truly a tale that brought tears to my eyes. I'm sorry your son is suffering so, hope that can get resolved as soon as possible. My cousin suffered a grand mal seizure when I was visiting her one day, and even though I knew all about her epilepsy and what to expect, the experience was terrifying. I don't know where your hubby got that assurance and absolutely certainty from in saying "IT'S ALRIGHT," but it was just what was needed for everyone. I know I personally could have used that years ago with my cousin.

it felt good to see it there because when i wanted to read it, i had to order it.
has anyone else found this book in stock at any major book stores?
I had to buy mine on amazon dot com. And I actually found that he (Ray) had published a book while going through cult sites. (I get on these kicks where I'll start researching something and then I'll go the gambit to collect EVERY SINGLE BIT of information I can. That day it was scientology. I ended up buying a book from Raymond Franz.) Go figure. :)
first and formost i'd like to say thankyou to everyone who has ever posted here before, your posts have made me laugh, cry smile and frown.
up until about two weeks ago, i was nervous about posting here, tonight, at 5:04am as i write this, i am no longer so, the fact of the matter is, i really don't give a damn as to whether or not someone in the local congrigation reads this or not.
i'm not a jw, i never have been, and barring getting really steamingly drunk for a good few years on the trot or suffering some other similarly catastrophic brain trauma, i never will be.

You have friends here...you can rant and blow off steam if you wish...it's not the perfect solution, but you will find understanding and support here, and that can be a good start.
As far as what to do? Wow...you're a good man, leander. You're sticking through crap that most people would have given a person up for. I can't imagine just how difficult it is with children either...but I think others have said it and it might be a good course of action for right now...just show her you love her (if that is the case :). Don't argue about her beliefs or try to make her read or listen to things that are against the jw religion...cause it will only hasten her departure from your side. I would however, if you haven't done so, tell her the very same line you told us about how she's dying to you now that she's back in the religion. That was hitting it head-on.
Other than that? Yet another heartbreaking post of how this cult ruins lives, loves, families. It's not right. It's just not right.

this is my first halloween as a free man .
so i looked up the word halloween and discovered some really cool things.
for instance, the word comes from "all hallows eve", because of being the night before the feast of martyrs (all saints day).
this year i am going to party like it's 34 C.E.!

This is the time of year when I can break out my lovely corset and wear it in general public without persecution. :laughs: Sorry, I just think about how often I used to tell myself that because I was persecuted I was following The Truth TM.
And of course, what holiday would be complete without candy?! CANDY CANDY CANDY! Of course, I buy only the best candy to hand out now. No skimpy, cheap candy at this house, no siree!

hey everyone i know its been a while since i posted but today i felt the need.just wanted to update you all on my position which is still brainwashed!i just dont know what to do i gain my strength to conquer this disease,(thats what i call being born in the org) from others like freedom lover who have come out of this religon free and clear i know its not easy but i know it can be done.i dont know why i just cant get over it and move on already,but theres thats piece of me that says,but what if?then im back, screwed and tatooed with jdub on my forehead,thinking that jehovah is upset and dissapointed with me and satan has me in his grasp.im stil sooo confused even with all the evidence pointing to they are full of crap!what if they arent?i just want to know the truth even if i dont choose to follow it,i want to know if jehovah is watching me torment myself every day,going back and forth and i cant take it anymore.then i think what if there is no jehovah?who the hell am i praying to with my daughter at night?
(the air mabe)you see my daughter still believes even though she is ready to celebrate halloween this year and yes we bought her a costume,cinderella!my mother comes and takes her every now and then only if i promise to go to some meetings and i did last weekend i attended the sunday meeting for once in a about 6 months!felt strange to be there but once again going to a different cong i got love bombed.btw i feel guilty and scared about having anything to do with halloween this year.yup still dealing with the guilt,fear,agony,of knowing and believing in the dubs,for so long now trying desperately to get out without feeling the way i do.i just dont know what to do anymore and its a shame because the dubs have sucked the life out of me(guess i didnt check my doubts soon enough).if i dont get off the fence soon im going to go nuts.i like believeing that satan doesnt even exist and that there is no heavenly org.gives me peace of mind that i can just live my life,if theres a god,fine,is it jehovah?thats where the conflict arises and i cant just go on with my life thinking jehovah has lost me to the other side!

my sisters came home yesterday and said someone was following them home from school, they got very scared and ran the rest of the way home.
they also told me that these two men had also followed one of their friends home a few days ago.

Yes.
I'd say call both the school and the police. Get it on report. That is something that is NO GOOD.
And you are NOT overreacting. In this day and age it pays to be safe. Listen to that little voice inside of you...it's probably telling you to call the cops and the school.
