lol...i heard of it years ago so i thought i would try it out tonight!
I put beer in the turkey :)
well...not literally...but I put a can of beer in the oven (open obviously or some pretty interesting things would happen) and let that bird aroast! Beer in potroast is good too...so is the beer boiled brats and beer with soup and beer with pizza and beer with more beer and...oh wait.
sorry. got a little carried away there.
there are many, many wonderful people here.
perhaps i'll check in once i am discovered and cast out of the org for the terrible things that i have said here.

good things alway happen in november, my birthday is in november my sisters birthday is in november, thanksgiving is in november and basketball season is in november.
the air outside feels and smells diffrent this time a year.

i find that when i tell a person exactly how witnesses think and why they believe in things the certain way they do, it feels good!
listening to myself express the craziness of the religion makes me abhor their practices and mind control.
I like talking about it with ex-jws...trying to talk about it with my family and friends is a different thing all together. I turn into like "Auntie Evil-Satan-Cat is gonna sit down and tell you children a story!" cause some of the information just seems so unbelievable.
I don't talk to dubs...I haven't spoken to one in years and the last time they visited the house it was when I was living with my in-laws and the FIL took care of them. Maybe this is a good thing?

Well, today is my husband's birthday...so that makes it a good month. It's also nearing 'that time of year' where his side of the family starts with the whispering and side long glances and giggles and nods of approval. Yes...the infamous christmas gift idea-o-thons. It's the month where I get all my christmas shopping completed by (hopefully!) so money-wise...it is NOT a good month.
me and my friends at uni were having a discussion today, it began with my friend talking about a friend that was an ex jw, and he said she went so far off the rails its unreal, then he connected that to me and said "jordan, you're a jehovahs witness right" i replied reminding him i hadn't been for about three years, and he's never actually known me as one, so why he assumed i was still a dub was beyond me.
anyway, he got onto the whole "you've never had christmas or b-days" thing, i said no, because xmas is a time for families, and it's a little hard to celebrate it when you're the only member of your family that would celebrate.
well, long story short, they said the last day of term, before we all disappear for christmas break, they're going to throw me my own christmas party... i thought that was pretty cool, and it reminded me how damn lucky i am to have such good friends.
That was a wonderful thing for your friends to think up. It just goes to show you that friends are the family you choose for yourself. I hope you have a fantabulous time!

Yeah, I remember talking to a girl that I was close to when i was in the organization. She was still on-again off-again in the religion when she called and told me (this had to be 98-99) that the society had changed their definition of 'generation' and that it didn't REALLY mean the 1914 generation after all. I mean "Woops! My Bad!"
My only response to her was, "And you still believe it don't you?" The convo miraculously shifted after that.
a friend told me that during the watchtower study, the po commented that, "at the district convention this year, the district overseer said that.
the reason they had the drama on timothy, and the dangers of his going on to further his education, was that parents and children today have .
the wrong views on full-time service and higher education.
