let me explain a little about what i do each day...... i work for a company that arranges trusts in the cook islands, turks & caicos, panama, etc.
i know that blondie is against what i am about to say, but i do not just believe that the wts have a variety of trusts in various jurisdictions around the world......i am absolutely positive they do.. .
i personally look after 14 trusts.

A few points:
It is fairly obvious that the WTS has become more and more corporatized over the years, especially since the late 90s and early 00s. So no, it would not surprise me that there is a team of people using the organization as a money machine.
So the question is, who are the benficiaries? My inclination is that if this is going on, it's the current officers of the WTS and maybe a few of the GB members.
None of this negates the fact that college, in general, is a good thing, worthy of pursuing for the right person in the right circumstances. The society's position is that college should not be pursued under 99% of circumstances. This article merely shows that there are problems, and the college experience is not for everyone.

It also appears that evangelical Christians are also pretty poor. If evangelical = fundamentalist, then I know from direct observation that people who tend gather in these types of churches also tend to be very poorly educated.
Most of those are probably Southern Baptists and Pentacostals, which consist of many Southerners who are just poorer in general.

This is probably correlated very strongly with educational attainment, and seeing as how the Pew study showed the Wtinesses had the LOWEST educational attainment of any major American religion, it's not suprising they are also one of the poorest.
