Maybe "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who would be a good song for many of us.

Why go to schooll if you are a jw?
by fullofdoubtnow ini just watched this video about the watchtower view of education at the end of the 1960's, when they were looking forward to the "end" coming in 1975. they haven't changed their attitude much either, from what i've read of late.

Why do you think the fawn over the ones that come in with higher education and advance them so quickly;
I've seen that happen. They made Trev an ms within a couple of years of his baptism, and others who came in as adults, had completed their education, had well-paid jobs etc advanced quickly as well.
While I could never see the org admitting that they got their education policy, or any other policy for that matter wrong, I wonder if they secretly wish they had encouraged teens to complete their education instead of telling them to leave school with minimum qualifications and pioneer.

Disfellowshipping smokers is an outrage!
by yaddayadda inhow does the society scripturally justify taking the ultra-harsh measure of disfellowshipping and shunning persons who merely enjoy smoking a few cigarettes a day?
in what way is mild smoking a gross sin that is deserving of such a harsh punishment?
how on earth does the society make the connection between the scriptural exhortation to 'cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit' (2 cor 7:1 & 2) to taking the extremely harsh measure of denying a smoker the right to any contact with their fellow congregation members, friends, and jw family?

What makes their attitude towards smokers outrageous in my view is the fact that they will forgive a child molester if he "repents" for his crimes when he is caught, and even try to shield such people from the law, yet will punish anyone who smokes a few cigarettes, which is still a legal act.

KOOL-AID.. Need info please
by AlphaOmega inokay, here goes.... i've seen many many many references to kool-aid here, such as "don't drink the kool-aid" etc etc but i can't work out what it's all about.. but, my imagination tells me that maybe someone went to a memorial meal, "partook of the emblems" and discovered that it wasn't wine, but kool-aid.. am i right or is there something else going on?.

It's a reference to the Jonestown Massacre in 1978, when 900+ members of the peoples Temple committed suicide in a compound in Guyana by drinking Kool-Aid laced with cyanide, although some reports claim it was Flavor-Aid. Since then, the term "drinking the Kool-Aid" has been used in reference to cult ordered suicide.
There is a lot of information on the tragedy here

Trev and I think that they will use the doctrinal change in the May 1st QFR to buy themselves more time.
We are expecting a watchtower study article later this year, maybe a month or two before the annual service report is published, which will refer to the QFR article on the gathering of the anointed. They could say something like "when will all the anointed be gathered? We do not know, but be assured that jehovah will act swiftly once this gathering is complete. We can be confident that once the 144,000 have all been sealed, armageddon will soon follow"
An article on those lines would quite probably reassure the rank and file, and give the org an excuse for armageddon and the new system being further delayed, as well as preventing too many awkward questions if the number of partakers at the memorial continues to increase.

Just keep reading on here, and on sites like Freeminds and Quotes. They'll soon see they won't be alone and without support if they leave.

Godhead
by Messianic inromans 1:20 is the second place the word "godhead" is found in the scripture.
in this verse the apostle starts off saying "the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen.
paul was speaking about god's divine nature, and was not talking about three manifestations of god.
