a By the love they have among themselves
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel ini dont know the hebrew word for fake love....but this is the love that i have seen over and over again.. last year my nephew married a sister from our hall.
this young man is a good hearted person and saved himself for marraige.
looking back now in hindsight, i dont think this sister was a virgin but i think she pretended as though she was one.

what do you refer to god as?
is jehovah correct, is it not, is it too associated with jws for you to carry on doing that?

Skirting the issue
by Virgogirl inwhat argument is put forth that women must only wear dresses or skirts to the meetings or in service and are not permitted to wear slacks?
where does it say it's wrong for sisters to wear pants, and how are they convincing women in 2005 to buy into this?
i remember many bitterly cold chicago mornings with frozen legs running to doors and back to the warm car as quickly as possible, wearing a skirt which was ridiculous and inappropriate to the weather conditions.

Scales falling from my eyes. (very long!)

and still associating with jws... have been baptised 23 years, that was at the tender age of 13 when i had absolutely no idea what i was doing.
i have always been considered a rebel...brought up in a family by a single parent, my two brothers are both elders, the younger being a regular pioneer, my sister a regular pioneer and serving in a foreign language congregation.

???? For Former Elders re: Comittee meetings
by ApagaLaLuz ina recent thread made me think.
are there guidelines to judicial comittees that say a minor can not be questioned without a parent or guardian present?
i remember my sister was left alone in the room with 3 older men during her jc when she was only 17. when i was 13 my best friend got in to trouble, and they questioned both her and i alone.

The Privilege of Handling the Microphones
by minimus inone of the most unbelievable privileges that a brother could have was being a microphone handler.
elders would discuss brothers for hours and see whether or not we would allow them to mow the lawn or handle a mike.
i always felt that these brothers were doing us a favor but if they didn't get a minimum of 10 hours in per month, they were dog crap and couldn't have any privileges.

by ballistic ini had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).
(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).
anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.
