apparently, a large percentage of xjw's who post on this site have embraced some other form of god/jesus belief to replace the wt doctrine.

most of them fall into the "i accept the lord jesus christ as my personal savior" class.

they are still extremely attached to the old "forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of jc" line.

my biggest problem with this jc as my saviour thing, is this... with the research i have done, i have found no pertinent, or true historical data pertaining to jesus' existance!!! no real proof... except the religious docments... which to be honest, could have all been forged... there is nothing written by the most pertinent writers of the time wrote nothing of jesus' coming to jerusalem, or even of his murder.... if you can find me some, i would be very interested in seeing it...

the thing with religion is exactly this... the reason it exists, is because we cannot come to terms with the fact that one day we shall be nothing... i mean, that is everyones greatest fear, being nothing when we die... so we entertain these religious ideas to say; there is a hope, there is something to come when i die... i will not be non-existant....... "god will save me from the worms".... i have no interest in being bull-shitted so that i dont have to be afraid

peddling religion should be illegal... freedom of speech my ass... but that is besides the point...

what bothers me is if you somehow do "plant the seed" and bring smeone into that stupid religion, how would you feel?why do you ppl go on service when you hate the religion? why pretend, just so you can please ppl who really do not care about you? dont you realize you are better off without the ppl willing to ditch you at the drop of a hat? damn, i dont get it!!!

Why can't i ask questions?

in the first chapter of the book " what does the bible really teach " students are encouraged to be humble and ask questions until they find satisfying answers.

why then, did no one reveal to me the history of the wtbts before i became a baptized publisher?

why do we encourage those of other faiths to look into their religion objectivley and yet we are not allowed to do the same of ours?

i think the reason u cant ask the questions, or think objectively is because if everyone did, it would all be over for the borg.... the whole thing would finish and everyone would walk away... its ridiculous how little truth there is in the "truth"... but hey, at least now we all know to question all... it teaches us all a valuable lesson... truth is never what it seems...

i remember very few of the details, of when, where and exactly what took place, however a few years ago i was told the story about three elders that were walking together and the middle.

elder was struck and killed by lightning.

the other two elders went to his house to help out his wife and discovered 'apostate' material in their home.

So, why did I meet with the elders?

this is my explanation as to why i met with the elders today.

when i agreed to meet with the elders last week i had made up my mind to just go in and be honest with them.

i was going to tell the elders that i no longer believed this to be the truth, and then i was just going to walk away.

heres my honest opinion of what you did...

it is not what i would have done... but there is no need for you to run around rationalizing it hun... you did what you felt was right... you did what you think you should have done... no one, and i mean NO ONE has any right to criticize you for doing what you think isright... no matter what they would have done or not done... because we all live with different circumstances and different priorities... good on you for doin what you thought you should... (yes i know i used that phrase like 500 times, but im tired ok???

fingers of blame are always looking too point

hi everybody i am mick_mcc son of greater_freedom he posted about the elders tried to drag him into a shotgun judicial meeting because they saw christmas lights in 2004. but what really upsets me is that my real mothers who was a jw put out decorations for thanksgiving and easter each year, and we put up some lights & decorations too accommodate the lady that moved in to help take care of our house & we are sinning!

and my mother is the one that turned us in & is persecuting dad and myself.

i think a lot of my dad because , after me and my brother's accident he stayed with me in the hospital until i was well enough to leave the hospital to attend rehab for my tbi(traumatic brain injury) that i suffered due to the car accident.

i cannot believe how friggin awesome this winter has been... i mean, its over now, which is pretty damn clear... but common yall, i live in southern ontario, we get tons of snow every year, this year, mother nature decided to give us a break... it was so nice out today, too bad i was too sick to go out and enjoy it...
