I'm an elder.
No I'm not.
do you know why the society says this?
regardless of whether the meeting is for the purpose of shepherding, sharing bible advice,or simply giving encouragement, "she could develop romantic feelings for the elder.it is possible for an elder to develop improper feelings for a sister he is comforting or counseling.
it is especially important never to meet with a sister alone when the sister being assisted has been a victim of abuse, suffers from depression,or for any other reason is in a delicate emotional state.a woman in such an emotional may be more vulnerable and may be prone to develop improper feelings toward an elder meeting with her.
I'm an elder.
No I'm not.
when you were associated in the congregation, were you treated in a way that made you feel like you were a 2nd class citizen?
how were you regarded?
were you the brunt of criticism or were you pretty much well-liked?
Well liked as a slave, getting dirty underneath peoples cars, clearing lawns, helping the disabled.
But treated like pond scum when trying to be a MS. Spiritualy weak you know. Asked too many questions. Made too many grey heads "ponder" my qualifications.

feeling a bit devious about now and wanted to throw this out.
i heard on the radio about a new camera that could be 'connected' to a wireless hub and accessed through the internet.
just imagine going to ones' commitee meeting with a camera already installed in the room or in a bookbag or in a fake hollowed-out bible .
Hello all,
Feeling a bit devious about now and wanted to throw this out.
I heard on the radio about a new camera that could be 'connected' to a wireless hub and accessed through the internet.
Just imagine going to ones' commitee meeting with a camera already installed in the room or in a bookbag or in a fake hollowed-out bible , new world translation of course . The wireless hub could be in a nearby vehical connected to the web via a cell phone.
Now, the WHOLE WORLD can see a JW kangaroo-court-judical-commitee meeting in action.
I guess sound can be recorded and added later or somthing.
Or mabey, he he, get one of those webaccessable cell phones where you can take video and insert it in your jacket, camera lens replacing a button of course, and reccord the entire event to your web page.
Ahh, there are SO many possibilities. I might be tempted to do somthing if I'm ever called before a CM, but then, I would not go out of contempt for that cult!
Gotta be careful of the recording laws though.
Deviousness....now......subsiding.......slowly....................................................................

about 2 weeks ago one of my old pioneer buddies came over for a visit (he's the only jw who doesn't shun me).
i got talking about the whole naos in revelation 7:15 thing and we both started to have a debate over this.. i got out my copy of vines and showed him what it had to say about the greek word naos and he accepted it (i've shown this to 3 elders and they wont even look at the book!).
i ask him if the word naos equals the temple sanctuary which signifies heaven in revelation, where are the great crowd serving in???
It is a VERY difficult thing for a believing JW to try to seperate the WTBTS from God and Jesus of the historic Christian faith.
The problem is the perception of interdependency between the two. To a JW, one cannot exist without the other. No Jehovah, no WTBTS. No Jesus, no FDS. And vis-a-versa.
The answer is (sadly) to have a tramatic event "sever" that perception, ( like rape, molestation, betrayal, deprogramming, etc.). Or a more "surgical" approach like bits of education on the org so as to limit their influence, ( way more demanding requiring a LOT of love ).
Of course, my favorite approach would be a world wide educational campaign on radio, T.V., and the internet warning all about the trap that the watchtower printing company is using to get people to join the cult of the jehovah's witnesses as free labor to maintain their corporate solvency.

i've read alot of great posts that contain experiences, opinions, and facts that show what the wts has as an ageneda.
my own experiences and observations are as follows:.
mind conrol: the wts weapon of choice to keep their ranks within their grasp so as not to influence the rest.
When I think of how to best describe the org to non-JW's in one breath it goes somthing like this:
"The WBTS is a publishing company that uses the Cult of the Jehovah's Witnesses to maintain their corporate solvency."
I try never to associate religious terms with the org. I just use 'worldly' terms that have to do with $$$MONEY$$$ and !!!POWER!!!.
After all, that IS what the org is all about.

it takes but one major star, producer or hollywood executive to take the tragic silentlambs saga to heart.
imagine kevin costner as bill bowen.
i'm still trying to decide the actors who should play each of the governing body members... .
I think Donnie and Marie Osmond should play the Pandello's.
CornerStone
as a few may recall watchtower policy has changed when circumstances serves the interest of the governing body in getting rid of someone they want to railroad.
an example that has been offered involves peter gregerson.
peter was a personal friend to ray franz, in 1980 peter wrote a letter to the society, saying he wanted no further association with the organization.
Bill,
Find some way of recording the nights events. Even if somone has to sit outside in a black van with infrared and ultrasound equipment.
Not, ofcourse, that they will even LET you in the front door. Not to mention those with you. They will
say you would be distracting from the normal progression of the meeting, sooo OUT you go.
Recording laws, if I'm not mistaken, can be bypassed/justified if it's done for the protection of the community.
Like, the communities children forinstance.
