i rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.

are these tapes around today, generally i would love to hear some talks that were given before 1975 and see how many brothers said something big was going to happen, because we all know the watchtower never said that !!!

Of course JW's will say that it is apostates who made these tapes, yep, we all sound like Nathan Knorr and Freddie Franz, in fact we are so good at making them up, we even included rain and thunder on the tapes and babies crying or whatever background noises would happen.

i was reading some of the first " topics " on this db and i noticed that a few former elders and publishers .
were stumbled by this date.... i was born after 1975 and i'd really appreciate any comments from brothers and sisters who were around .
what i've noticed from personal experience is that many brothers and sisters feel that only " a few " were stumbeled .

i actually never liked the memorial.
it was`nt a very spiritual occasion at all really.
i hated feeling guilty about not doing the scheduled bible reading.
Annually on Saturday, I hated field service.
i had a nice conversation with an elder recently and it illustrates why reform of the organization is nearly impossible.

is very aware of how bad things are becoming in congregations and he worries about his retirement.
And reform won't happen, ............ because ....................
Like it or NOT, 90% of break-ups and divorces, revolve around .............. MONEY,
let's face it, NO ONE likes to struggle and fight for every penny to stay alive, I'm not saying that having money will prevent a break-up, but it does add some security. And most JW's don't make much money and have kids and just can't make ends meet, and have enough time for meetings and time with their kids.
It's just reality, and the Watchtower's VOICE that the end is near and you don't need an education you just need faith in Jehovah is not helping.

It was written by Freddie Franz and only Freddie Franz, oh don't get me wrong, others did help, but he had to approve everything, as it had to cross his desk first.

" in 1946. beginning with this issue, the format of awake!
wonder why they didn't mention the "Creator's Promise to bring an end BEFORE the generation of 1914 passes away" which appeared from 1981-1995. Guess they forgot that.
