Why The Natural Desire For Sex
by Undecided ini was thinking about this today and wondered why "god" created this overwhelming desire in humans?
if we were created in god's image does this mean god has desires like his spirit creatures mentioned before the flood did?.
it would seem that man with his inteligence would be able to decide if he wanted to have children and have sex just to procreate.

What religion are you now?
by Michalea ini've struggled with wanting to be 'something' mostly probably to fill that hole that was left and to try and belong somewhere, anywhere really.
so i've tried penecostal, presbyterian, united churches but they all seem fake.
i always compared everything to the jw's, and didn't even realize it.

Do we need religion, or does religion need us?
You seem to be on the right path. Believing in God does not necessitate ones participation in a religion.

The Greatest man book actually helped me to see who the organization was really like.
Hint, it wasn't Jesus.

Waverers Almost Gone When They Arrive Here?
by Englishman inof late, we have seen several threads started here and elsewhere that question the responsibility of ex's towards wavering jw's.
much of the material in these threads has been to do with whether our words or behaviour on these sites should be moderated so as not to "stumble" wavering witnesses.
some folk are of the opinion that we have no responsibilty whatsoever to waverers, others say we have a degree of responsibilty, yet others opine that we have a very great degree of responsibility.

Only in defense of the "torrid stories of what bad things witnesses in my town did", I must say that they do serve a small purpose in breaking down the squeaky clean image that is put forth by the society. I think it helps those who think that "witnesses are the best people in the world" to realize that as people go, they are really no different from the rest of the world.
Yes, doctrinal issues and other "meaty" subjects are far more important. Just these other stories do serve a small purpose.

Are you not happy in life, would you rather face death? Then you need to get some help. Do you feel that life could be better? Then do your part to make it better.
No, you can't make the world a better place all by yourself, but there are plenty of ways to find fulfillment and hapiness in this life, you just must seek them out instead of believing that they don't possibly exist. Yes, some people out there are truly happy, they aren't just putting up a good front, you can be happy too, if you want to.

What if the Watchtower Changed .......
by IslandWoman inif the watchtower changed it's blood doctrine to one where publishers could do what their conscience dictated without fear of reprisals from the brothers, if they also quit using the two witness rule and said all criminal accusations must be reported to the police, if they stopped shunning, if they said all df and da'd could associate with their friends and family, if they apologized to ray franz and all others who were hurt by their policies; would exjws respect their dogma and refrain from putting down their religious beliefs to their faces?.
this is an important question, more important than you know.

Letter to my family V1.8, request for references
by ColdRedRain inthe 2 witness rule in a nutshell says that 2 people have to witness the incident.
" trees have roots, and when a tree's roots are rotten, all of the tree is rotten too, down to the fruit.
with truths like these, it's no question that they're a "rotten tree".

I was not condesending to anyone, but merely trying to open up your mind to the concept that you have responsibility for the children you make and who you make them with, a concept that it seems you did not grasp anyway. The very fact that you decided to have another child with your present husband and continue to gripe about not having enough money to be comfortable in supporting your children speaks volumes.
I DO feel for you, that is why I was trying to give you some good advice. Stop blaming other people for your problems, stop griping about things you cant control, like your ex, even if he is a deadbeat. Its not going to improve your situation. Take some people's advice here and try to use the law to get more support for your children, but bear in mind that you may not succeed, you may just have to deal with your situation that you, yes you dear, also had a hand in making. No, life isn't fair, $@#! happens and ghriping and blaming accomplish nothing. Set a good example for your kids.

Did you have no part in making children with this man, or did you wake up one day with three kids and a deadbeat husband/ex-husband (not referring to your current).
Listen, I do feel sorry for you, my mother raised my sister and I all by herself from the time I was 12 and her 8 and most of the time didn't recieve child support from my father, finally having to get his wages attached. It was a hard life. But your children are also your responsibility and if their father cant have a meaningful role in supporting them then that is just something that you, who decided to take on the responsability of children as well, are going to have to deal with. I'm sorry you are in this situation, and fathers should absolutely support the children that they have helped to make, but when you describe your ex, it doesn't seem like he would be a reliable source of funds anyway.
