  i have been reading post on this forum for many months and i wanted to thank you all for all the great posts and comments that have really helped me get through this hard year of fading.

  my husband and i where born in jdubs and almost 1 year ago we started to fade , now that we think about it has been a few years that we were suffering from cognitive dissonance without knowing it.

  we feel that finally we have our life back , a life that is just starting.

  Welcome to our worldly lair. LOL.

  I was born in. What I found out after leaving the Truth, is that I don't have a "normal" to return to. Others who were in the world before, have that to latch back onto. So many times, I feel like a stranger in a strange world. But, then I tell someone a story about my past and I think, "My, that JW life was wierder (i.e. fu**** up) world then the real one."

  WT August 15, 2013 QFR - Sitting next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings

  page 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.

  perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.

  first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.

  So, there must be alot of disfellowshipped teens in the Kingdom Halls being dragged back for meetings for the WTS to spill ink on the subject? All those children & tween baptisms are creating a problem.

  Or, parents are worried that a disfellowshipped teen/relative can't come back to the Kingdom Hall because he'd have to sit alone. That is a chiller to get the relative to return. So, if the WTS allows the relatives to sit together, then he comes back into the great big LOVE family. Of course, the disfellowshipped is goign to have to sit in the middle of the family or on an end chair, so as to buffer the pure Christians?

  Personally, I think this is a response by the Legal Department. The WTS has been hit with whether or not people, including minors, can give "informed consent" to refusing blood. Part of informed consent means that the JW is not coerced. A slice of the coercion piece includes that the person would be shunned at meetings, having to sit in back, etc. Now, the Legal Department can begin to argue that being disfellowshipped isn't that big of a deal and the WTS does not split up families. . . . why, they are allowed to even sit together at the Kingdumb Hall.

  Nearly Lost It at Work

  i've made no secret that i do not like the place or the people where i work.. i've had to borrow money to get my drums/brakes fixed.

  i dropped my car off this morning before work.

  i hesitantly spoke to one of the bosses (female that is so irritating) asking if i could please go pick up the car once they phoned to say it was ready - if i could use the time i usually took for lunch.

  Shirley W - ouch. I am a terrible speller, but I used spell check when I worked for him ALL THE TIME. If he had found a word mispelled, he totally would have chewed my arse out. No, it wasn't my fault. He rarely had a male worker stay for over 6 months. Chicks could hold on for a year. He's only had 3 people "hang on" for over 5 years - all women. He boasted about it. Human resources sent him to training often, due to lawsuits against him. He was a "looker" when it came to women. He once offered to a female worker to share his bedroom with him and his wife, if her husband would allow it. He made a point to run out all male workers super fast. They were competition.

  Freeminds 2.0 has launched

  today we are launching freeminds2.org.

  this is stage 3 of a three part project spanning over 30 years since i left watchtower headquarters in 1980 and gave the 18 members of the then-governing body, including president nathan knorr and vice-president frederick w. franz.. the new site will be more blog/news oriented (and updated more often with articles, blogs and videos almost daily).. all of our previous sites, such as armageddonokies.com and watchtowerworld.org, randytv.com, exjws.net, and others will be incorporated into the previous freeminds site, which is currently being revised and converted from its joomla-based format to this wordpress format.

  i am sure you will find it much easier to search for words, people, articles, and subject very easy.

  Why do they call it the New World Translation?

  does anyone know why the watchtower named their bible the new world translation of the holy scriptures?

  it's been awhile since i have even had any of their books in my home, and most of the time i don't think about it.

  i don't know why, but when i think of that title, the phrase new world order keeps popping up in my mind..

  Did you know that most of regular christians think the New World is a literal new world. it's not a refurbished Earth. Blew my JW trained mind when I first heard of that.

  I once had a total nutcase of a boss. He was so disliked that his peers (some from other companies) made a special point of sympathizing to me when we met at social events. One of his peers told me that his current wife used to work with my boss. He had to come up to give his apologies to me, and to let me know my boss was a "nut job." Just like your boss, my boss was a control freak .... but punched walls (literally). Make a tiny mistake or do something a little different, and he went on a tiraid. In one of his yelling fits, he sat in my office for more than an hour with a strange look in his eye and was claiming I had ADHD. Yes, he was condescending and abusive. I have been through alot of schooling, jobs, all exceptional, no one said I had ADHD. . . until I met him.

  I was planning a vacation, put in for it, and had talked about it alot . . . when he decided I needed to stay the entire weekend. I asked him if there was someone else who could do the project because my kids were hoping to go on vacation. So, he did. The secretaries were like, "You did a career limiting move." I was like, "Oh well. So...."

  In my case, he was super high up in the company and I was the low guy on the totum pole. I realized that the company preferred to keep an arse in power. There was no fighting it. I bought some books, "How to get along with annoying people" to no avail. He needed a shrink. Even his wife hated him, and she told me! She told me that he hated their kids and her too. That was the first day I met her, the first conversation I had with her!

  So, one day I had enough. He yelled at me at 8:00 a.m. for 15 minutes in the hallway becuase I supposedly wrote two sentances in the same memo differently. The summary sentance was a "no" and the detail sentance was a "yes" answer. When I got back to my desk, I read the memo. He fricken read it wrong. Both sentances were "no" answers. I decided to leave just then. At noon, he came to apologize for me. The next day, I gave him my resignation. He was like, "But I apologized yesterday." I said, "So."

  Keep looking for a new job. Don't pin your hopes on this one, open job. Play the game at work, and give her no reason to fire you for insubordination. Compliment her a little, and she'll ease off. That worked a little for me, all the while with each compliment I was filling out applications....thinking, "This too shall end." When I quit, my boss was apologetic. He didn't want me to leave! I did. I told him that he was a very unhappy person. I never looked back.

  JW ex-boss is such a horrid man!

  ok, so my husband worked for this slave driver jw boss in a factory, and injured his back on the job.

  so my husband has launched a compensation claim against the jw boss's worker insurance for unsafe work practices.

  so the jw ex boss has responded to the claim with this mega statement affidavit thing.

  Go to www.martindale.com. It will give you qualified lawyers in your area by specialty. Another good site is superlawyers.com. Make sure you are talking to an attorney who represents harmed employees, not employers. Usually, these attorneys will only represent one side or the other.
