just be like a householder...don't go to the door
they will dig, and even if you play the game, they will assume what they want to . gossip is a big jw trait especially amongst the women folk( they have extensive training in the car groups).
you will be bugged to death by the elders...
if you no longer want to be part of the jw system..just walk away. you have nothing to loose really. if the elders deem you a problem, or if they think you may be "pre-apostate", your gonna get black balled either way
i know..been there
but in the end, it doen't matter...just get tight with GOD and HE will deliver you from this!!!!
love ya critter

Grounds for Disfellowshipping?
by eyes_opened inhey all,.
i'm sure this topic has probably been covered before, but as i'm in this situation now i'm hoping maybe you can offer your thoughts.. i'm just curious, what are actually grounds for disfellowshipping?.
i'm to the point where i no longer believe that jehovah's witnesses have the truth, but if at all possible i want to avoid the big *d* word, as most of my family and my husbands family are still jehovahs witnesses.

WHY ? !!!
by somebody inthe very first scripture cited under the "sharing on a judicial committee" in the elders book is duet.
1:16. here are a million questions!
how do members let the higher -ups use a scripture from the ot where moses was speaking to isreal, and completely disregard jesus' words?

in search of christain freedom was a great book..your eyes will really "pop" open. it is a huge book, but i got thru it and i cannot tell you the weight off my shoulders, knowing that leaving the org was the right thing to do, and my bible trained conscience was a well honed tool.
i like also that he does not write(ray franz) with anger or hate. he really has the love of Jesus in him.
at least i think so, and the info was detailed and documented -

Another pagan ritual JW's practice
by TR ini recieved this in an email this morning: thanks, man.
it was the accepted practice in babylon 4,000 years ago that for a. month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink.
mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month or what we know today as the honeymoon.. tr

i believe that reporting your time and underlining the watchtower have pagan beginnings...........
and chanting the same song , at the same time, en masse around the world, using the ancient symbols of musical notes surely has pagan overtones...... -

Do Kids Hate Being JW`s?
by Englishman inmy kid brother, tom, was born to witness parents.
he was something of a surprise package and my parents were delighted.
my father said that tom was:.

being a jw kid had a few good moments, but basicly it sucked. in school i was the ONLY one who was a jw( and painfully shy on top of that) and had few friends at the hall. i went to a very "klicky" hall and was from a family of 6 kids, so the highlight of the year were gettogethers.
as for boyfriends..forget it, activities in school, only evil worldly kids would do that( i did play jv basketball one year-my dad was not a jw)
when i got to my senior year in hs, i had pretty much lost interest in the "truth", but went to the hall( sometimes hung-over) in case armageddon hit(1974)
got married to a jw kid at 18 just out of school...long story..
hated giving talks, hated door to door work, meetings were boring, i could doodle in the margins of my watchtower like nobody else..i was artistic(could not accept an art scholarship...college??? hahahahah
well, you know the rest......................so here i sit..mid 40's, grown kids and the heart break is while i raised them, i had no hopes or goals for their lives either

this has nothing to do with the above, but i heard a funny story about a prayer offered up at a meeting, and thought ya'll would get a kick out of it.
i guess sometime ago when meals were no longer offered at the assemblies, an elderly bro. in n.h. offered prayer at a meeting, and he spoke his heart to jehovah in the way he knew best, honestly and truthfully.
i cannot quote him verbatum, but here is what was heard:
"dear jehovah..blah blah blah....and thank-you that we don't have to eat those "GOD-D*^##" hamburgers any more......"
this is a true story(my 2 sisters heard it and repeated the story to my brother .....i just thought this was so funny

an open letter to dear sister danielle
by crittersitter indanielle.....you have spent many hours on this board chastizing those apostates, quoting verse, giving us text from the watchtower..... you maybe have even counted your time here( i would).
however in my reading of posts and responses, i sensed a lack of somthing in your efforts to correct and lead the fallen ones back to jehovah.... after much thought and prayerful consideration, i realized it was the lack of agape love for the brothers and sisters who reside here.. what is the verse about our charity and preaching, our works and good deeds...if they are done with out love, they are like a clanging gong.
and what was the greatest of all the commands?????

wow, ya'll got really tore up over this danielle person(s)
i'd say it was someone who is on the outs with the org but wants to defend it till death, somthing we all have done for a time( hopefully only a millisecond) as we were leaving.
the wt quote mentioned staying close to the org, and not releying on human reasoning.. the two things that keep one from seeking the real truth, and as for the "joyful" people in the org, i can truely say that most were miserable( and those who were happy had bubbly personalities, )
daneille.....if you were truely a dedicated jw, at the first hint of apostasy you would have run like a scalded cat...
not stay to argue or debate
i wish you well in your search for truth and acceptence
i hope you find the love you long for, for it is not in jw land( this you already know) -

Questions for DFShipped...
by LDH inhi, dfs.. first of all, let me say it is not necessary to label yourself on this board, or anywhere on the internet for that matter.. so many of us have family members that are df'd, it really doesn't hold much water round here.
i did have some questions for you though, which of course you don't have to answer.. 1. why were you disfellowshipped?
(pls.

i read the posts and the malawi thing came back to mind. i was a young girl at the time, and remember reading the horrific stories, nearly in tears and shocked by the graphic details( which is nothing compared to what we get on the evening news)
i remember thinking that the sexual assults on the sisters were so detailed that even my mom had a hard time explianing this horrid behavior to me ( was this a thrill for all the pedophiles and perverts lurking at the kh at the time?)
i was scared this would happen to us in this country too, after all 1975 was not too far away. i kept my mouth shut about being a jw
i was just a 12 yr old. i did not want to be raped because i was supposed to be "nuetral"
but reality was (and is) many have gone to prison and suffered for what they believe the truth to be. this is in no way to be scoffed at, tho sad to be a martyr for the wrong reasons, or for what may at the time be truth, and then become "new light".
what about those in this country who could not do a job on a military base because it would be supporting the gov't???
or be a policeman because of carrying a gun?
the list goes on, but what about the guys at the top who secretly or not so secretly have an interest in the very things that the rank and file are admonished to stay away from???
recently i was given info on wtbts having shares of stock in an outfit that makes parts for the military...
some of you probably know this, but it was a huge eye opener for me. and i don't give a flip if it was a "donation" or what ever
the company is involved in military componants.
why is it ok for them???

on thinking more about your post...why would you trust your fate to man? in being a jw , you have done this( or any group who dictates policy over and above God's word) and dictate they do....by labeling former members as apostates, requiring full discloser and details on supposed sins committed, seeking out past attendees to see what they are doing( to see if they need to be df'd)so as not to stumble or reproach Gods name(ha-ha)
limit your talents and gifts by keeping you too busy to develop anything that may be frowned upon by jw policy( this changes from year to year-decade to decade)
serving up guilt trips to make sure you peddle the publications in a timely manner...and report how much time you actually spent doing it.
