((((((Kattie)))))))
I don't know if this is good advice but when you see your daughter just remind her that you are her real mummy and nobody can love her more than you and the other woman is her dad's new wife that will look after her when you are not around.
What do you think? It the truth and when she grows up she'll see for what it is - the truth.

My daughter has to call her 'mum'
by katiekitten inim sorry i havent been on the forum for ages.
but like the prodigal son i have a problem now, and i would really appreciate some help and input.. i found out at the beginning of the week, by a slip of the tongue from my daughter, that she has been told by her dad to call his new wife 'mum'.
daughter is 8, and on questioning has said that she feels she might get told off if she doesnt use this term.. i initially phoned her dad to ask if this was true, and he told me she uses the term all the time and 'its none of my business'.

Rent vs. Buying a house
by Elsewhere in.
i have started thinking about buying a house again.
something that drives me nuts is the fact that i can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone as to whether or not owning a house would be financially better than renting an apartment.. things to take into consideration:how much i pay in rent.how much rent increases each year.how much i pay in renters insurance.how much a mortgage would be.how much pmi or an 80 / xx mortgage would be.how much i would have to take from or borrow from my 401ks and iras for a down payment.how much i will have to pay in penalties for taking money from my 401ks and iras.how much money l will loose by not having that 401k money earning interest.how much maintenance on the property will cost.how much insurance will cost.how much i will be paying in property taxes.how much in "freebies" i will get from the seller (they will pay $xxx in closing costs if i use their mortgage company).other crap i haven't thought of yet.. it seems like everyone i talk to has their own agenda and they all give me different results based on they want me to do so they will get more money from me.

It really depends on your personality type. of all the people I know not one would ever say that renting is a better long term alternative to having your space. For my personality renting just isn't right for me. It gives me a sense of subjugation to the Landlord and that just doesn't sit well with me. In general I think owning your own property, your own little castle and doing as you wish with it negates any shortfalls of owning your own place.
All your questions are money based try thinking of it from a different angle. -

Apostate Kate,
Thanks for your post it is very informative I've copied it onto my desktop to read it from time to time.
"GUYS!!!! What is it with you? Is it fear if rejection or what?"
When I really like a girl it is not about fear of rejection but my ego that screws up peace of mind and makes me do and say the wrong things. I've never managed to conquer this stupid feeling.
"1. First Base; TALK. Communicate! Ask. Listen. Respectfully engage in dialog. Ask her what she thinks about you, what she thinks about considering a relationship with you. Usually women are better at this but not always. It sounds like this girl may not be as able to express herself as others. "
I did this, which I believe is the reason she liked me in the first place, she's a traditional girl and not into fast love or lust. You've hit the nail on the head she not that expressive, I find I'm hold up the conversation most of the time.
"3. Consider all things in the blooming relationship. If you like her SHOW it. Realisticaly face differences. My attitude always was; why waste time dating someone whos differences are so great we could not spend the rest of our lives together. Consider everything like smoking, drinking, cultures, GOALS in life. Where do you both want to be ten years from now?"
This is an interesting one. I think we just about pass this "test". I definitely have more interests than her. Is this a bad thing?
One girl I met last year we had practically everything in common I could talk with her for hours on end and never get bored and she was really into me as well. I could have married this girl and lived happily ever after except for just one thing, only this one thing, she had a nasty and I mean nasty temper which she turned on me once too often and so I called it a day. I was gutted. Do you think I could have cut this nasty habit out of her or did I do the right thing calling it a day?
-----------
A digression:
Yesterday I was in the coffee bar of a museum and I noticed that a girl sitting a few feet away from me was looking at me. I looked away to continue talking to my friend but could see from the corner of my eye that she was still looking, I looked back and she didn't flinch she just maintained her gaze at me, I looked away again then looked back and still there she was gazing at me. This went on for about 40 seconds. Now if I had done that to a girl I would have been arrested!
She was young about 18/20 ( I'm in my 30's). Is that psycho behaviour or just a really keen girl? She was with an elderly lady maybe her mum. -

Stolenyouth,
"Men always assume the world revolves around them. Just maybe she has things going on in HER life and her head that don't relate to you in any way? Get over yourself and start being a gentleman which involves respect for her privacy, even if you are"friends", her space and her intelligence. If she is interested she would say. Being polite ( agreeing to go dancing but not being too enthused) is not playing mind games. If she had said " I'd love to" then that would have been exactly what she meant. It's not too hard to work out."
I didn't accuse her of playing mind games. I was upset that she did a U turn on me though because I got to like her and it is not often I get to like a girl that actually likes me back.
I think I might have freaked her out after she lost interest in me but I continued to show interest in her (which I've stopped doing now). Like I've said I've pulled back and whatever happens happens. -

"Thomas may have addressed.. Thomas may have been acknowledging.. "
But if the FDS are Gods channel then why don't they know for a fact, why are they guessing?
How many maybes and may haves did Jesus use?
Leolaia,
I don't agree with you. Because they claim to have the Truth and so they should know. The problem is they don't know cos they don't have the Truth. -

Most of mine were in college. Some rejected me then had a change of heart and vise versa.
one in library, succeeded
A sales assistant in a bookshop, rejected me
One in a restaurant, rejected me.
My favourite was on a train. I had a limited amount of time to impress her enough to get her number before I got off the train which I did, that was 5 years ago and we are still friends today! -

Thanks,
I won't say I'm acting like I don't give a sh*t but she certainly isn't getting the interest from me like before, she just another house mate now. And like you said if she is interested she'll just have to show it. -

THis is an interesting thread as it epitomises the silliness of the interpretive nature of the FDS and so exposing the uselessness of their doctrines.
I remember their literature littered with conditional statements when they were trying to defend difficult biblical verses or happenings within their own organisation.
Once you surrender your intelligence and replace it with hocus pocus your screwed.
