i can understand christmas, easter, halloween and valentines day but birthdays, thanksgiving, mother's day and father's day don't have religious or murderous origins.
also, at the last supper, jesus told his disciples to "keep doing this in remembrance of me".

by bigmouth inmaybe i'm tired but........at the risk of seeming overly critical,there have been a number of posts on this forum where the spelling and punctuation have been abysmal.i have no problem with the occasional error but the subjects here tend to be somewhat more complicated and it makes it too much of an effort if i have to keep re-reading things to figure out what the missing word was or where the sentence ends.one academic said it was no big deal as even his professors were poor spellers!well i've got news for you guys, if you don't sharpen up your grammer i'm not even going to try to give you the courtesy of figuring out what you're talking about.

9, the messiah was to appear exactly 69 weeks after the decree was made to rebuild jerusalem.. historical records show that artaxerxes longanimus made the decree for the jews to rebuild jerusalem in nisan 30 445 bc.
the wt states that that this happened in 455 bc.. they got 607 bc as the date of the destruction of jerusalem wrong and now this one as well.. although this date is not as critical as 607 bc to the wt doctrines, it still shows how they write their own history as they please.

NEED HELP WITH INFO ON THE CROSS VS. TORTURE STAKE
by Mary ini was at some friends' house last night (ex dubs) and another friend, dan (another ex-dub) was there.
we got on the subject of the cross and surprisingly, dan still believes that jesus died on a "torture stake" instead of a cross.
i was surprised and told him that there is ample historical evidence that shows the romans used crosses for cruxifiction as it had been around long before jesus' time.

What does it matter? Is it a reason to seperate yourself from others, because of what you "THINK"? How about concentrating on what we have found to be true together, and perfecting it together. That can be searched for later. We have some serious problems to confront already, and a whole bunch of people to help. I could be wrong though, there might be something valuable in proving that to everyone. I have my doubts though
What's next? Was Jesus white or black? Lets waste some time on that one too
I "think" we need to spend more time trying to find ways to come together, than digging up differences to seperate ourselves from one another. "divide and conquer" is gonna die! do you get me? or do you wanna race.....

If I was going to punished for something, that is what I would want to be "punished" for. When I do, I, don't know how to describe the emotion. I feel closer to our Father. I feel like I am doing the "right" thing. And it makes me feel good knowing other before me went through the exact same thing. I also know how our Father felt about them too.
Dee Dee has never been a JW. She was raised catholic. But we both have strict mean parents in common. And we really relate on this level.

Mine keep getting better and better....I have never felt so good in my life. Makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring? will it get even better? How long will it continue? will I ever reach the "destination"? I truly hope not. Then it wouldn't get any better, it would remain the same.

I met a girl in the bank today and she shared that with me. Turns out she was a mechanic in the Army, and knew more than me probably about diesels!!! Too cool..Her name was Dina. It was a really good day. I went to the body shop and got out my CBR 600, and went riding, visiting all my friends, at Kia, and Tri county Ford. Now I have got to fix a friends dodge dakota(AC compressor). I had a wonderful day today.. Execpt I failed getting Dee Dee some pain pills for her back pain. I told her I would talk to the doctor, and explain the situation to him, and see if he could show her some mercy and help her. She says no, because she ran out from giving her aunt some of hers to help her with her Multiple Scorosis. I am confused as to why that is "wrong". She will not let me ask him either.
any ideas?
