  WTBTS and their stand on Medical Marijuana?

  i'm curious what the current wtbts stand is on medical marijuana, especially in states and countries where it is legal.

  if not the herb itself as medicine, then their attitude towards marinol (thc pill) and satiex (thc + other cannabinoids in a spray).. i am an oregon medical marijuana patient, and i know there are a couple other medical marijuana patients around.

  Jehovah's Witnesses Are Awaiting Persecution!

  if jws "suffer" persecution it will make them feel as if they are fulfilling bible prophecy.

  they like thinking and believing that they are chosen to be abused and persecuted.

  if any political upheavals occur, they look at it as a sign to say that the end is near.

  HLC, NO BLOOD AND THE TORT OF MISREPRESENTATION

  in the recent thread regarding the watchtower letters to all congregations regarding hlc and blood transfusions i quoted the following quote and added the comment following.

  first, in the opening letter (jan 3, 1995) addressed to the congregation, it states: our computerized listing of cooperative doctors shows more than 19,000 in the united states.

  the worldwide listing from all the branches reports more than 50,000 doctors working with us.

  I regularly trash the HLC but for a change I'll add some balance in the shape of this 2 year old local news item.It shows the JWs actually being proactive and kind of doing community work. Bless the little devils

  Noah's Ark.- Kangaroos

  if god had organised for each pair of species into noah's ark prior the flooding which destroyed many in wildlife.

  i wonder if any of australian animal species like kangaroos, wombats and emus were also included?

  Can a Sexual Predator Be Cured?

  the state of california is conducting an experiment by releasing some sexual predators, who have undergone treatment at a state hospital into some communities.

  one such example is cary verse, who is now in bay point.

  convicted of sexual assault of three boys and a man and treated in atascadero state hospital, he left treatment in feb. 2004 and is now on conditional release.

  "Ok you can go now as long as you don't rape any little boys"

  "Ok you have my word"

  Give me a f****ng break.

  The people who release these people back into the community don't have to pay the consequences when they re-offend.

  I'd like to see them put something back into society. Using them to test drugs and chemicals on would be a good example.

  They must have been salt water fish, cause all the fresh water ones died when the salt from the seas flooded the lakes. And then all the fresh water fish re-evolved after the flood, that is the salt water fish that got stuck in fresh water ponds after the water dissappeared.

  Noah may have had on board fresh water aquaria. He would only have needed a few species because over 6,000 years all the other fish species could have evolved ( like dog breeds). Keeping fish tanks on board could have been organised by the alien consultants at the time. I bet Franz knows.

  i dont know if anyone else has posted on this issue but the religious hatred bill has hit a stumbling block.

  the house of lords have put in place ammendments to the bill which will protect freedom and speech and the offence will only proven where there is an intention to incite religious hatred.

  glad to see that blair is beaten yet again in his 'draconian' attempts to reform our legal system.

  Hi there DB1974, yes I tried starting a thread on this the other day. I also am chuffed that Blair has been knocked back again. What I was trying to ask was whether the WTS could conceivably quell criticism from "the likes of us" under the auspices of it being religious intolerance. On the flip side too, could WTS's verbal trashing of other faiths be deemed to be potentially illegal too? No stretch of the imagination could see these two examples as coming under incitement of religious hatred, but the fact that comedians, artists and actors are stressing about the thicker end of the wedge makes the issue interesting.

  THE HLC: DID THESE GUYS GO TO COLLEGE FOR THIS STUFF?

  a 5 page letter was read last night from the gb in reference to the hospital liaison committe.

  i never knew those guys had so much power!

  i tried best i could to write down all the important points word for word as they were said: (apparently the letter will not be posted on the board but anyone is free to speak to an elder with any questions concerning the letter:

  In some cases with your permission they may be able to offer suggestions to the doctors who are performing the surgery.

  In our local hospital the HLC stuck their noses in on a case where a sister died in child birth. She would've lived with a transfusion. Her baby survived and was left without a mother, and her non JW husband was left without a wife. Since then the HLC get shown the door by security. The staff hate them. Yet they give the impression that the surgeons all done up in their scrubs are going to say "Right we need to speak to the HLC, they'll know what to do."
