  I gave blood today and it hurt...

  i go into the blood mobil today as i usually do every 8 weeks.

  they ask me a gezillion questions like have i had sex with a prostitute and etc.

  i answer no as usual.

  Good call zeroday. I prefer the actual donating to the preliminary Haemoglobin test. That little pricking device is not nice and because it's on your finger tip it seems to be more uncomfortable afterwards than the hole in your arm.

  i have noticed that if someone has an opinion that does not go with the flow on this forum they often get insulted and shot down in flames.

  i thought this was a discussion forum, but i am sadly dismayed to read so much intolerance of another's opinion.

  if you appear to support the jw's in any way, even though people like me may disagree with you, you are entitled to your opinion.

  STOP THE MADNESS....where is this board going?

  i've only posted since feb 07..but i have lurked for several years prior and there was usually something interesting on the board.

  as i was reading the active topics list this morning, only a couple things jumped out at me as interesting...its been this way since the dgate and tgate incidents.... i was discussing this with a long time poster via im yesterday....does it seem to anyone else that so many of the topics are ...i dont know....odd...or different than they used to be...and i dont mean that in a good way.. i miss the newbies coming on and telling us their stories.... i miss the long time posters updating us on their lives post-borg... i guess with the recent uproar, the lurkers are hesitant to become newbies (cant say as i blame them now...we probably scared them off , and maybe the vets are just as hesitant...after all, someone went 2 years with their fraud/hoax...who will believe anyone else now?

  i hope this is just a temporary cycle on this board..i have read many many posts from the archives...i hope one day soon we can get back to a happy medium here.. by the way, i like the fluff threads, but these seem to be more and more sex related (maybe that word will wake someone)... yet they get all the attention....and then someone goes too far and it gets locked down by a mod and the poster restricted......(i am not a prude...just sometimes enough is enough).

  Have to agree with Gregor and Open Mind on the Sankestypogate controversy. That used to stress me out.

  Don't you think it's interesting that Simon created the board and that it has since evolved by itself?

  The only thing I have to say is that I've always felt a slight outsider not being a Yank or Canadian, but that's all I have to say about that for now. Life is like a box of chocolates.

  it was the glendora california congeration.

  The other day I visited a shop which sells used vinyl records.

  One was by Hank Marvin, who is most famous for being in the Shadows, a group which started out by backing Cliff Richard.

  I used to see Hank at London Assemblies a long time ago. He was a JW by all accounts.

  I noticed that on this Vinyl Record collection of his was the track Devil Woman. I wondered if this was sufficient grounds for a DFing.

  one of my cats has ruined my sleep for the last 2 weeks with incessant meowing from about 5am until i get up.

  said cat is now banished from my room so i can get uninterrupted sleep!.

  The scandalous effect of JW childrens literature. Why not investigated?

  i can only imagine that in some jw children, the effect of the lessons taught and visual 'illustrations' can be mentally destructive.

  some of the pictures in relation to armageddon are imo 'too much' for a small developing child to take.

  it surprises me that the authorities have not investigated and put a stop to this form of mental abuse in children.

  Yes Satanus, or even send some of this WBTS kiddie literature to an organisation responsible for advising suitability and age range, ie a censor. Then again. hang on, surely the Bible itself would get a 15 or even an 18, LOL.

  I suppose it should be the responsibility of parents to protect their children from unsuitable material, but of course in the case of JW literature, the parents would deem it be highly suitable.

  There's something particularly dangerous about the JW childrens literature because it's being presented as hard fact. Children are often exposed to all manner of shocking material, via all types of media, but such material is usually subject to varying forms of censorship. In this case the brainwashed parents are haplessly passing on the poison to their offspring's vulnerable minds.

  I'd like to know if anyone, when a Witness looked at these books and pondered their actual suitability? I expect not.
