I believe every move they make is about money. The organization, like any life form, seeks only to survive. There's an obvious cost savings by moving out of New York City and
I'm sure that is their only motivation.
so i hear that the wt are selling lots of property; worth millions.
1) they sincerely think the end is soon .
2) they just want the money .

from time to time we hear that the ex jws should have organised themselves to a high level and that doesn't necessarily mean setting up another religion in opposition to the wts but some sort of rather secular organisation to carry out that task.
no doubt this lack of organisation plays in the hands of the wts who escape the nightmare of a highly organised efficient opposition.
the rough treatment of ex members in my opinion is intentional and aims at emotionally stunning them to pre empt the possibility of them having a clear mind with which to fight their fraudulent, cultic objectives.
I prefer "guerilla warfare".
have i stayed too long at the fair.
there are many names and faces that i don't see much any more.
my own style of posting has changed due to my limitations.. welcome to the new ones and stop by some of you we are missing if you can.. blondie.
Greetings Blondie,
Stick around here for as long as you can. Ofcourse, your health comes first, but if time and health allows there is always a place here for you.
I'm relatively new, but have always enjoyed your recent posting.
Take care,

does the governing body and its helpers really believe what they teach?
there's so much emphasis on the great tribulation, once again, i wonder if they believe that the end is soooooo close.
i know some of the "faithful" believe everything hook, line and sinker.
I think a majority of the GB are true believers™
It's the GB members that no longer believe that really concern me. The same goes for DOs, COs, bethel members, etc. that no longer believe but stay on for the power.
in some of the post i read, people say that they have never been a jw.
what makes them post on this forum?
my only guess would be because they have family or friends that are.. .
Here is the link to one of my favorite non-jdub posters that have been on this site. He only posted for a brief time, but I really liked the guy.
what do you think?
should he be put on trial before a world court?
Umm, what exactly fuels nuclear power plants again? Hint: It's very warm and radioactive. It is well known(publically) that Iran will be running low on oil reserves in the very near future. Unless they can figure out a way to burn sand and make electricity, nuclear is the easiest alternative.
thankyou Jourles for mentioning this.
It is a topic that is rarely mentioned, yet it is a fact that Iran's oil reserves have been on the decline for decades. Iraq on the other hand, has not fully exploited it's own reserves.
In my opinion, it is the only country left in the middle east that has the capacity to increase it's oil production as opposed to the other countries that are on the decline.
And yes,, I'm in full agreement that Iran needs nuclear power in order to take care of their future energy needs.
i adopted my cat 14 years ago today.
she is 14years and 2 months old.. i'd do it all over again..... .
.
I have a pet monkey that is going on 20 years old, and another that is 12.
That is so cool. I told my wife I wanted to get a pet monkey,, she isn't too fond of that idea.
a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer throughout her pancreas.
this is usually a deadly and rapidly lethal cancer.
at my bible study group prayer requests were taken and i placed her name in for prayer.
No contradiction in the first paragraph. There's a big difference between hope and faith/belief. Due to zero evidence of any god(s) existing, I don't believe in one.
I also hope that santa claus is going to give me a big screen tv this christmas, but like god, I don't believe in him either.
Yep, absolutely sure of the second paragraph. The result would be the same whether you had a group prayer, or stayed home and drunk yourself silly. However if the doctor drank
himself silly,, well, we would have a different outcome.
I'm not in anyway trying to destroy your faith or anyone else,, just don't expect me to believe without evidence. What you presented is not evidence.

As an athiest, I do envy those that have faith and believe in their power of prayer. I also am an athiest that hopes there is a god, hopes there is more to this life.
That being said, I view this as a fortunate outcome to an often deadly cancer. The result of the surgery would have been the same with or without the prayer.
Had the outcome of the surgery not been favorable you wouldn't be posting this experience here as it would not look favorable to your group prayer.
you know how when you explain how it was being a jw to people who haven't been jw's before sometimes they just don't get it?.
well good friend ( that i made on the outside ) we had a heart to heart.
she told me that she knew before i even told her that i was a jw.
That'a an interesting experience.
Recently my dad told me, that despite being an inactive dub since the 80s,, he still finds it awkward to take that next step and associate with non dubs.
As he said to me,, it must be from the indoctrination that was done from such a young age. It just stays with you.
Your friend is very observant. Sounds like a great friend too.
