Since I've had no demon attacks lately, I wouldn't know. However, I find it unlikely that I would shout a name if something strange happened... I'd probably grab my camera. No kidding, with all the demon attack stories I heard as a youngster, I often wondered, When will I be attacked? Why am I being left out? Where's my demon!!!!

The name Jehovah and demons.
by Zico inthe society teaches that if unexplainable things are happening in your home, then shouting out the name jehovah will cause them to stop.
as you probably know, this is meant to be because these strange things are caused by demons, which may have posessed an object from your home, which was previously used in demonic activity.
but, supposedly, since they fear jehovah, shouting out this name can cause these things to stop, even if only temporarily.

You've brought up my pet peeve of every relationship I've been in.
Basically he expressed interest in travel so that he could secure you in a relationship or in at the very least, get in your pants.
My experiences are similiar in that once a girl gets into a relationship with me, or at the very least, gets into my wallet, then all bets are off and whatever was said at the beginning
of the relationship is no longer true. All of a sudden I find myself dating a woman I don't even know.
Bottom line is this,, You want and need to travel, it's part of who you are. Tell him you're going and that you really want him there, but if it's not important to him, you will take
someone else with. end of story.

They only know the WTS, but in a more distorted way than their parents and grandparents.
Kind of like what happens when you use a xerox machine to make a copy of a copy of a copy. Pretty soon that nice original document you had is now extremely
fuzzy and distorted with very little writing on it that is legible.

I stopped watching once they cut chris. Tayler is great too, but I'm completely boycotting it, now that they've cut their best or close to best singer.

Do we trade one arrogant "I am right" for another "I am right" attitude?
by free2beme inwhen i was a witness, i was very arrogant in my life in thinking i was right in all things.
the right religion, the right bible, the right understanding and the right lifestyle.
when i left, it was not hard to shake this arrogance and i found at times i was the same person, only with a different "right" message and i annoyed my witness relatives as much as they annoying me.

I agree JWfacts, except for the part about you being right.
seriously though, I've always felt that no one is right, we really don't have all the answers.

The Convention
by KW13 inwill you be recording any of it and/or taking notes?.
i would go the one in manchester (m.e.n arena) but 1) someone might recognize me and 2) can't get there.
it would be odd to watch something like that without the 1inch tinted glasses on.

I might be going, and if so, I'll be recording too. I'll then send the file to whomever can host it for those interested.

The spiritual worth of an individual is measured in a physical capacity to adhere to the will of the centralized governing authority. No account is taken of other, more fitting qualities that make for spirituality, like a love for the Word of God, or a love for the fellowship of believers. Indeed there is NO other method of measuring spiritual qualifications that the WTS sees fit to regard.

by Seeker4 injim howard was a psychiatrist who became a jw.

Blondie,
Thanks, it sure doesn't seem to take you long with your research,, much appreciated.
I find it interesting how they seem to 'qualify' the decision of joining a group, by stating you should be careful so as not to damage your spiritual interests.
In my opinion when something is qualified to an extent that, only 'true christians', only 'lovers of jehovah' would choose such a course or action is just another way of saying that you can't
take part in, belong to, or do(whatever the subject being discussed is)

May 28--Four years since Dateline's JW sex abuse program aired. Results?
by AndersonsInfo insunday, may 28, 2006, is the fourth anniversary from when a threshold was crossed into uncharted waters.
on may 28, 2002, the u.s. television news program, dateline, publicized to millions of viewers the facts about watchtower's deceitful child abuse policies which protect pedophiles who target and molest jws' vulnerable children.
subsequently, this subject caught the interest of media throughout the world who, through careful investigation, substantiated the allegations made on dateline.

I suppose we just had too much of our lives invested in the religion to leave. Also, to exit would mean we were fools to have been taken in by such a sham for so long and nobody wants to face that. So maybe it might be better not to be so hard on the JWs who have not left the org. over child abuse. I have sympathy because when I look at them, I say, "There, but by the grace of God, go I." I don't mean that literally, but we've been there, done that and know exactly the way they feel about their investment.
Excellent point,, I think most people have a hard time being accountable for each ones actions,, That being said it is difficult for people to admit they were fools or taken advantage, because doing so would make each individual accountable for allowing it to happen.
And yes, maybe we should be more understanding of those that are still 'in' and continue making known the FACTS of this religion we were once a part of.

Good for you. I would imagine being a fresh transplant to Australia only added to the stress of being temporarily out of work.
Congrats on the new job. It sounds like the perks of this job will compensate for the less pay. In time I'm sure you'll make up the lost money in future raises and bonuses.
