What Belief or Teaching Do You Think The Watchtower Will Next Abandon?
by minimus indo you believe the society will just stay on automatic pilot or do you think some "new lite" is in store for witnesses?

: I think the next teaching they'll change is allowing auxilary pioneers to only need 40 hours in each month.
And there'll be pressure to make one's time count, not just to count time. Elders would have to be ever-vigilant to keep on top of such things. Fat chance, elders are all ready overworked and overburdened.

DIMPLES Update
by Dimples inwell, i finally found out what is wrong with me.
my shoulder has been killing me for a good reason.
i saw an orthopedic doctor and he said he thought the problem was actually from my neck and not my shoulder.

Ouch! Hope everything goes well and as planned. Don't let 'em leave any instruments in you. (Guy I worked with, his mom had something similar done and yeah the surgeon actually left some tool in her)

What's the JW view on food intake?
by sonnyboy in.
i've been thinking, if the jws won't allow smoking, excessive drinking, or the alteration of the outer body, do they also have rules about caloric, saturated fat, transfat, and sodium intake?
these things can be just as harmful to the body in the long run.

Well I just did maybe 15 minutes of research on the WT-CDROM and in the Flock book and couldn't find anything about expelling someone from the congo for gluttony or making overeating a practice.

At 5$ a gallon for gas, will you modify your driving habits?

: Around here it's very common for people to live 60-100 miles from the city they actually work in. The city I live in has a population of around 250,000 yet it anchors an area of more than a million. The majority living at least 40 miles from the town they work in.
Not too dissimilar to the metro Buffalo-Niagara region where I live. Public transportation or carpooling is suggested here all the time just because of pollution. I've cut down on my driving a lot, one 'cause it's tough to drive with hands that don't work, and two, 'cause I have a 1976 Buick Skylark with 58,000 miles on it. Runs great but I just know I'm killing a baby seal every time I turn the ignition key.

It is absolutely retarded that by the year 2005 we haven't found a decent way to keep the economists happy and manufacture decent hybrid or fully electric or even hydrogen-based fueled cars. I love a 1972 Monte Carlo big block as much as the next motorhead, but - It's scary, but I'm becoming a lot more liberal in my advanced age. Edited to add: Whenever our family business buys a new truck, it always has a V-8. Not much choice. We'd drive a V-6 into the ground in less than 2 years. Our normal gasoline/fuel bill is about $1300.00 a month, much of it taxes thanks to good old New York State.

I'd love to see women allowed to give #2 and #4 talks. Those fake "talks" they'd give just always seemed so demeaning. If they can comment at the WT study, why can't they talk for 5 minutes from the platform?
As far as abandoning, I think the precedent has already been set and maybe they will sooner than later say something more to the effect that unbelievers or unbaptised persons that lead moral lives and live in the household of at least one good JW can survive Armageddon.

It makes me sad to see how you guys were treated - by family, no less. The day I got DF'd my JW mom told me, "Nothing will change, we love you more than ever."
As I've mentioned before, a certain elder at my judicial hearing said to me, "It'll be a real hardship for your parents not to be able to talk to you." To which I essentially said, If you think they're going to follow that bullshit rule you've got another thing coming.

Megadude, I couldn't agree more.
: In their fundamentalist theocracy pubs would be closed
I'd rather see their churches burned to the ground.

Why did the WTBTS not sue Ray Franz?
by Gill inif ray franz had been lying in anything he said in both of his books, c of c and in search of christian freedom, surely the wtbts would have sued him.
why did they take no legal action against him?.
could it be that this legalistic corportion realised he had lied about nothing?
