  Just got a visit from elders

  well, it's sunday morning and i'm sitting here posting on this board when i hear 2 car doors slam.

  i peek out the window and see 2 elders walking up to the door.

  since i'm still in my jammies, i told my husband to go get the door while i snuck into the bedroom.

  in all probability, the bible that you have does not have the name jehovah in it, anywhere.

  we too have a fraternity, a brotherhood, gods family is what we are, and if anyone dishonors the congregation by conduct unbecoming a minister of god, shunning, or disfellowshipping as we call it, is gods means to deal with such ones.. q 7: how can a person isolate themselves if you chose to knock on peoples doors outside your religion?

  I have given these matters that Danni brought serious attention myself. I have decided that people like AlanF, larc, hillary step, gumby and Venice have stiffened their necks to the truth for so long they have in all likelihood become irreformable in Jehovah's eyes. That is a dangerous position to be in. I wish to thank You Know for his patience and fortitude in answering the smooth and cunning objections by apostates and the honest and sincere questions of interested ones, and for being the catalyst by which I shall seek reinstatement into the organization which is my spiritual heritage.

  q 3: what is the "evil slave vs good slave" i read this ealier sounds more like a movie in hollywood.. q 4: why would any one want to be a slave.

  Your Most Embarrassing JW Moment

  im just curious about this:.

  mine is stupid, but thoroughly humiliating at the same time.. my mother made me wear high heels for the first time to an assembly when i was 15 years old.

  it was all snow and ice that day, but i made it inside fine without slipping.. during the first session, the naughty girl that i was, had gotten bored, so i decided to go to the restroom.. i guess the floors were wet or something, because i slipped and fell down about 17 or 18 steps.... head over heels, quite literally.. i landed at the bottome with my dress up over my head, showing off all my under "wares: lol!.

  Our congregation experimented with wireless roving microphones one year.

  I didn't realize my mic was on when a sister told me the ladies' restroom was out of TP, and then I asked another brother to retrieve some from storage.

  the time is circa 1995, i have just been dfed for challenging the towers right to dictate to me what i can or cannot do professionally.

  the web is in its infancy (im talking archaic days as in windows 3.1), i go on aol and put up a thread on x-jws on their bulletin board.

  i am thrilled to have alvinas a current jw respond with kindness and understanding as she mirrors the same issues i wrote about.

  I remember those AOL days.

  RalphRUOK burned out. Praotes become a closet apostate and then burned out. DocBob shows up occasionally on Yahoo but he's totally burned out (and seems to have lost much of his sense of humor... well.. he just takes his faith seriously I guess).

  The fact of the matter is, the only real debates these days are about the NWT and one non-koine-Greek speaker bashing another non-koine-Greek speaker, with both quoting from a million different sources on how to render this phrase or that appropriately into English.

  Let's face it. On an intellectual level, a lot of us could go back and argue the JW position on a number of issues very easily. I do it all the time. It's not because JWs have the truth --- it's because they have as much right to be their version of "truth" as much as the next guy. And that is because we are all inherently and essentially full of BS.

  Wasted Life Story..The Uncaring Husband 1.2.02WT

  this is the wasted life story from the feb 1 2002 wt.. i would have entitled it the uncaring husband........ this guy gets married in 1954. tragically his wife has to have an operation to remove a brain tumor in 1957. this leaves her in a fairly desperate state.. as a result, my wife was left partially paralysed , and her speech center was badly affected.

  now a whole set of complicated challenges arose for both of us.

  even the simplest task became a major obstacle for my dear wife.

  Snow and Macon DO NOT MIX!!!!

  it started sometime this morning before i got up at 6. the roads were ok so i made it into work.

  snowed all morning with a nice dusting, then that gave way to rain/sleet.

  we planned on closing the shop early but the weather definitely didn't hurt business.. people just kill me sometimes.

  Fuck you. We had over 83 inches of snow in Buffalo last week, I lost (am losing) two weeks of work, and my shop is flooded.
