"This just can't last much longer...."

i went over and visited my parents today.

my mom broke her hip while we were in hawaii, and i've been mostly house/bed ridden myself since we got home.

so i finally got over there today.. we talked a little about the hurricane, which was on the news she turned off.

When I was still a dub, an older lady of the congo said to me (as I recall) privately once, 'We've been told for fifty years Armageddon is coming soon. I don't know why it hasn't or what really to think and I'm a tad upset.'

Poor baby-boomers like my dad were told they'd never finish high school because Armageddon would come.

People like your mom are becoming rarer, I think. A lot of JWs probably couldn't even explain the expected chain of events leading to the great tribulation, nor could they show you from the Bible, nor really do they care. Some older ones still care....... I guess.

i've given away much about my personal life and troubles here and have received much support publicly and also by means of emails and pms.

i just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to all who send positive messages my way.

life is very troubling right now, not as bad as bryan's, but with little use of my hands, no job, the possible impending loss of my house, living alone and barely being able to throw out the garbage let alone do much in the way of cleaning or preparing meals (oh, poor poor cygnus, let's all have a pity-party for him), and having to fire my shrink because he laughed at me and dismissed my problems with a "that'll be $155.00 for nothing," i'm thinking at 6:30pm est of laying low for a while and counting on friends and family.

wednesday evenings (august 24th) fox news program "the oreilly factor" featured an interview life after "intelligent design" with dr. richard sternberg, editor, of the peer-reviewed journal "proceedings of the biological society of washington.

" dr. sternberg's home page discusses the recriminations he faced by certain members of the evolutionary establishment after publishing an arcticle by another person advocating the possibilty of intelligent design in the peer reviewed journal.

lol. how repulsive. i thought barber was dead. i remember 8 years ago him giving a talk in a special assemby and he seemed to be winging it and had so many facts wrong about JWs. I remember thinking, if I get that old and senile and people still treat me like a god, ok. But I won't. So do me in.

The Number One Reason Why I Am Not a "Watchtower Apologist"

a number of people of late have noticed the concilliatory stance i take towards the jehovah's witnesses -- both as individuals and even as an organization.

they have quite rightly pointed out that i appear to "defend" the organization and it's members from attacks that i feel are unwarranted or unnecessary.

too often, i feel, this forum becomes a gripe session in which mighty ex-jw throngs feel the need to paint the organization or individual jws as totally devoid of any good qualities whatsoever.

I'm apostate as they come, but I'll defend the Witnesses when I think they have a good point or demonstrate acts of good will out of sincerity. It's important to be fair.
