- W e believe that mankind's only hope of redemption is by witnessing door to door ten hours a month, go to 5 weekly meetings, and at least 3 hours of personal study. It would increase your changes if you were to become a volunteer full time minister or a full-time elder.

What if you had to write a statement of beliefs for the WTS?
by whyizit inmany churches have a written statement of faith, out-lining what their beliefs are.
that way, visitors know exactly what the church teaches and believes.
they get an idea of what to expect.. if you had to write out a statement of faith for the wts, to show exactly what they believe, without hiding anything, what would it include?

Thank you so much. No, I haven't found a woman I can talk to like I did with my mother. I have my cousin that acts like my second dad but no one has fit the bill for a second mom yet. Maybe one day.

Look. My ex-husband slept with his sister. I didn't find this out until after we were married for 4 years. There was a lot more in my ex's closet than that too. I would bet that he has a LOT more going on in there than he's telling you. He sounds like a control freak and I think the reason you are having insecurity problems could be because of him. I wouldn't wish the relationship I had with my ex on my worst enemy. I wish I could get you away from him NOW! ... Think of this. If he threatens you or makes it a big deal that you two break up, you can black mail him with this information (not that I believe the blackmail story to begin with.) Please get away before you are married or worse: have kids.
I have to say that I think he's lying. I doubt she blackmailed him into it or anything like that. He's lying because he's ashamed.
AMEN!
As to whether you should continue with him - well if you are early 20's and he's 10 years older than you........I think you would do better with someone closer to your age. Maybe someone who doesn't even have an Aunt or Uncle with children?
And ignore that one. My ex was 9 months older than me and he was an @$$. My fiance is 10 years older than me and he's absolutely wonderful and the best thing that's happened to me. Its not the age that's the problem here. Its the 20 other warning signs I see here.

I wanted to cry, and I am thinking you must have done so.
Yeah. My coworkers probably think I'm nuts now because I had tears running down my face when I read it. I do hope she doesn't write back for a while. I don't know if my emotions can handle anymore of these letters. Usually it takes a back and forth for a bit and then she cools off for 2 months. We'll see.

Oh thank you so much for the kind remarks. I need encouragement right now. No matter how much I feel that I was "right", I still love them and it still hurts.

"young ones are leaving" elder admits to a group of us
by ?me? injust the other day i was working at a hall and an elder commented twice that young people are leaving the org in a large amount.
i thought nothing of it the first time, but he kept up the topic later in the day.huh, i wonder why?
maybe the meetings that have more to do with organizational laws than the bible?

I broke into my parents house (I knew where their key was) to look into my elder dad's stuff to see if I could find letters or something from the society that I could use against them ... NOTHING! darn it.

My exJW cousin is walking me down the aisle. I sent him a copy of the letter to ask him what he things and this is what he said:
Renee: I was struck by your Mom's use of "I", "me", "my", etc. Not the joy of your wedding and your happiness, but the misery and pain you are causing her. Think about the reality of this situation. Who is really at the center of this e-mail? And what is your crime? You do not agree with your parents' religion. For this you are shunned, disowned, and cut out of their lives. These are conscious acts on their part. And yet in an attempt to make you feel guilty, it is presented as your leaving them. Unbelievable, but entirely predictable. I admire you and wish you the best. As the scripture states, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me." (Psalm 27:10) Take courage! You are a child of God and don't let anyone tell you that you are not. May your wedding day be a day of joy and celebration. God bless you. Ronnie

I also agree with Greymatters: just reframe slightly the relationship you have with your new family, so it leaves the door open to your parents always.
I was talking about the future relationship I WILL have. The one with my kids .. her grandchildren. I hope she catches that.

I appreciate all of the comments a lot. I'm taking them all in and deciding before I put in a final copy. I know a lot of you were never really close to your mom anyway but I was. She was my best friend. I just really don't want to close her off so she doesn't ever talk to me again. Renee
