Nice to see you here! Welcome!
I am most like "Monica" from Friends...
here's what i know that happened a few years ago with my elder uncle.
i have my suspicions that i know what happened.
i'll tell you the facts and tell me what you think happened.
Here's what I know that happened a few years ago with my elder uncle. I have my suspicions that I know what happened. I'll tell you the facts and tell me what you think happened. (excuse my past tense -- these people are still alive but since they won't talk to me, I find myself thinking of them in the past instead of the present)
Now keep in mind that this guy is an odd fellow. A little eccentric and he even has had a brain tumor and brain surgery twice. Also the kind of guy who would wear peach or pink and not think anything about it. He would wear cuff-links and tie tacks and rings. He watches the weather channel for hours on end. My aunt and uncle never had children because she was unable.
My uncle was deleted as elder. (no, not DFed) No one would talk about what happened. In fact, no one knew. My dad the elder knew but none of the rest of the family except my uncle's wife.
My uncle had cheated on my aunt in the past.
I asked why after he was deleted that my uncle wasn't forgiven and working to become and elder again since he was so good at giving talks. My dad said, "He will not be allowed to ever be an elder again."
My mom talked to my aunt about how my aunt thought it was so unfair that he couldn't ever become an elder again since the charges were only alligations and they never had proof.
One more thing -- I spent the night as a child with every aunt and uncle I had but never this one. They would take me out in service and take me shopping but never would let me spend the night. Their other neice never spent the night either.
when i was on the borg certain sisters would rush into marriage because their "biological clock was ticking.
basically they wanted to have children and if they were already in their late twenties or early thirties marrying the first "brother" who asked seemed like the way to go.. i was wondering do men have a "biological clock?
specifically if you are a man with no children, will you ever reach a certain age that would cause you to worry that your "clock is ticking" to become a biological dad?
My fiance is 35. He feels like we should have chldren a couple of years after we get married because he'll be getting close to 40.
so i am going on a blind first date this weekend?
i havent done any dating really - well ever.
i just end up with people for years and years by accidents of fate i guess.. what should i and shouldnt i do on a first date?
This reminds me of my experience with this sort of thing. I have always been attracted to woman but after dating them, I decided that I actually didn't want to have a relationship with one. All my dates with women were complicated. Men are so much easier to understand and less emotional. Women wear me out.
i am browsing from the garden on laptop, i am out here because finally some of its flat enough to sit out on since i am in the process of levelling it all out (hard work lol).. where are you as you read this?
if your not on earth state which planet please..
I am on my Macintosh PowerBook, watching Gilmore Girls on my 50" plasma TV. sitting with my legs proped up on my couch. There are 6 big windows looking out to the back yard but but its dark outside. This room is decorated contemporary style - pale yellow walls/mahogany furnature/roman shades/deep red couch/multi-color contemporary rug.
the time has come.
i shared with my mom the wondrous hope that is jesus.
with my toungue i confessed jesus is my lord to the glory of god the father.
It is quite wonderful to see you have found life in Christ. I was in your shoes a Jan '06. You will face rejection but remember that people usually do not accept Christ the first time they hear. If they to come to faith, it could very well be that you are just one of the things God is going to use to get to them. Keep up the path you are on and you will definately be happy. If you ever need someone to help you regain strength in the future, look me up and send me a PM.
atrocities happen all the time.
student mass murders, genocides, the ozone layer, the environment------you name it----it all points to what witnesses assert as proof that this means we're living in the "last days of the last days".
how would you respond to such ones?.
Then you have the preterists that use world events to prove that saten is bound and we are in the 1,000 years. How can the same world events prove that a.) the world is horrible and nearing its end in the last days and b.) we're in the millineum and saten is tied up so things are better than ever?
a friend of mine who is still a witness has been posting these things he calls "research questions" on his bebo account.
i find them rather amusing because even if i look up the answers and put them basically word for word from scriptures they usually end up being something printed out of the watchtower.
since he reads my bebo account i posted something about how there are shades of grey in morality and discussed how stealing a loaf of bread for your starving child could be both proven and disproven with the bible.
There's so much I disagree with in there that I don't know where to begin. As I am sure you don't exactly agree with it eather, you might just understand. I think the biggest thing is that God saves by faith and not works. IF JWs coud understand this concept, Armageddon wouldn't be a big deal. They would all KNOW they had eternal life and wouldn't be worried all of the time (1 Jn 5:13) But one other thing is that God is sovereign and as such, he can help people become His followers. Our individual salvation is not based on whether your mom says the right things. God has the power to help you himself -- so your salvation does not depend on what another person does or does not do.
i have been studying a lot about mind control.
i understand that while someone is in the "honeymoon" phase of being recruited in to a group, it is very unlikely that they will leave.
my jw friend is still in that stage.
Its too late once then honeymoon phase is over. That's when the thinking stops and the guilt takes over.
Happy Birthday!
